Rated 89/100 The Wine Spectator

"The Grand Estates Chardonnay opens with bright fruit aromas of apple and pear which harmonize gracefully with signature notes of caramelized sugar and butterscotch. Ripe fruit flavors are bolstered by lively acidity, yet balanced deftly with a subtle creaminess. The striking combination of rich flavors, ample body and refreshing finish make this wine a natural pairing for a wide array of foods." -- winery

Lagunitas WTF is here!

In stock now at Forsyth!

Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot
"WTF"....$4.49 22 oz A big Ol' Imperial Brown Ale to help you with your slipperly slide on into springtime. Rich, smooth, dangerous & chocolatey. "In the murky realm of things that make you go "Hmmm..." 2010 should rank way, way up there. From the curious per curiam decision of 531 U.S. 98 in 2000, to WTC7, to the House of Lehman, to the Nobel President's Afghan Expedition escalation, to the oxymoronic Jobless Recovery of 2010; we have been confused. So, we did the only thing we could, we made beer and lots of it. 5,643,420 cases of it to be exact. And as far as we know, you drank all of it. Thank you for that, because if you had not, we would have been looking for a bailout of our own, and we haven't heard about any breweries either needing or receiving any of those spicy Yuan TARP dollars....although we have rad that the Las Vegas adult video industry did. Nobdoy knows why. So, in a wolrd that is once again the proverbial "Ball of Confusion", craft beer alone seems to carry its own weight. It's nice to be on the winning team and thank you for your patronage and imbibiliciousness." -- Label Share

WINE TASTING!
Come taste these 3 wines tonight from 3-6pm
at our Forsyth location in Clayton

2009 DeLille Cellars Chaleur Estate White Bordeaux Blend....$18.99
Lowest price on Wine-Searcher is $29.99
A Complex nose that melds ginger, lemon drop, mirabelle, honey and spicy oak. Then dense, sappy and highly concentrated, with a strong spice quality and a distinctly tactile impression of structure.
Rated 92/100 Wine Spectator
Rated 93/100 Stephen Tanzer

2008 DeLille Cellars Chaleur Estate Red Bordeaux Blend...$39.99
Compare to the winery price $70
A restrained nose of balsam wood, pencil lead, thyme, sage, black currant, and blackberry leads to a round, rich, succulent offering that has the balance and structure to achieve its 20th birthday in peak form. As good as the wine is, if the nose becomes more expressive with time in the bottle, my score will appear to be stingy.
Rated 93/100 Wine Advocate
Rated 93/100 Stephen Tanzer

2008 DeLille Cellars Doyenne Aix Cabernet/Syrah Blend...$19.99

Lowest price on Wine-Searcher is $29.99
Expressive aromas of smoke, game, bacon, pepper, garrigue, blueberry, and blackberry lead to a round, succulent, impeccably balanced, lengthy wine. In the scheme of things it is a terrific value.
Rated 92/100 Wine Advocate

A couple of 96 point Rhones

2010 Domaine de Cristia Chateauneuf du Pape Vieille Vignes....$79.99

Very expressive, with layers of lush blueberry coulis, fig paste, currant confiture and melted red licorice all wrapped with toasted spice and coursing through the vivacious finish. A gorgeous display of fruit, with the spine to keep it balanced. Drink now through 2027. 330 cases made. –JM
Rated 96/100 The Wine Spectator
Rated 95/100 The Wine Advocate

2010 Domaine de Cristia Chateauneuf du Pape Renaissance....$71.99

This has a lot going on, with dark ganache and espresso followed by roasted alder and juniper notes, before the core of plum, blackberry and steeped black currant fruit finally starts to assert itself. The long finish lets bay and tobacco leaf notes stride through, with a tarry edge as well. Shows great character. Best from 2015 through 2030. 500 cases made. –JM
Rated 96/100 The Wine Spectator
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate

We have a crisis.....

I am off today and apparently our van comes to Forsyth to pick up stuff including the Goose Island Bourbon County Cherry Rye and Coffee Stout ---

He breaks the bottle of the Coffee, yes it is true -----------

I did not believe them either, so I asked for a picture.....

So this will obviously no longer be available at our New Ballas Expansion as planned....

we are replacing it with another very rare bottle
Cantillon Fou Foune
(as long as it does not get broken)

So now the two bottles featured will be...
Cantillon Fou Foune
Goose Island Bourbon County Cherry Rye

still need to visit our New Ballas location for details on how you can get these two because of Missouri state law

Benton's Bacon

It is back!!!

(back in stock at Forsyth only)
Benton's Smoky Mountain Bacon...$11.99 /lbThis bacon is smoked the old fashioned way for two days.

"Our hickory smoked country bacon is equally at home on a bacon, lettuce, and vine ripe tomato sandwich or on the breakfast table as it is wrapped around a premier cut of beef or a fish fillet. Hickory smoked in our smokehouse using an old-fashioned wood stove, each slice of our bacon has a distinctive full flavor that has attracted and maintained a broad spectrum of customers, from those looking for smoked bacon “the way grandpa made it” to gourmet chefs with the most distinguishing of tastes." -- Bentons

Their bacon has been featured in Gourmet Magazine, Saveur Magazine, and Southern Living Magazine.

Their bacon has been featured in Gourmet Magazine, Saveur Magazine
and here is an excerpt from Southern Living Magazine. "This is, hands down, the best bacon I've ever tasted....Benton's Smoky Mountain Hams come from a much closer source: Madisonville, Tennessee. You don't have to take my word for it though. Just ask the farmers and chefs. Some of the nation's top culinary stars make magic with Benton's hams. Local farmers bring their personal hocks to be cured by the five-man shop that competes with industry giants. The secret? They do things the slow way—using meat-curing practices thousands of years old. "Everything is done by hand," says Allan Benton, who speaks about curing ham with a passion that other men reserve for sports. Until recently, he kept his clients' addresses on yellowed sticky notes taped to the wall. "We're a hillbilly operation through and through," Allan says. And wonderfully so. The transformation from pork to perfection takes place in a smoke-stained cinder-block building on the side of a Tennessee byway. In a traditional process that's never rushed, whole hams get slathered with salt, sugar, and the family's secret spices; then they cure—for 7 to 14 months—on wooden racks. Out back, where the scent of smoking meat hangs thick in the air, Allan opens a sooty door to reveal the mysteries behind his bacon. As the fresh air clears out the little room, a tiny potbelly stove appears. "This is my smoke generator," Allan says. "I bought it for $50 from a cousin." Order now, because publicity has driven demand for Benton's products, especially the smoked bacon. Allan loves telling the story of a Vegas casino that paid hundreds of dollars for an emergency overnight shipment. But then, who knows better than a casino how to bring home the bacon?" -- Southern Living Magazine, November 2007

Stone Old Guardian

2013 Classic Release
Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine...$5.59 / 22 oz

Barley wines are traditionally hefty brews, but ours is downright excessive. The huge maltiness of this beer is only tamed by an equally prodigious addition of hops, creating a rich, slightly sweet, caramel-hued ale infused with assertive bitterness and bright hop notes, all culminating in a pleasing dryness. While it will evolve into an even more glorious brew with age, this beer's delicious onslaught of flavors will seriously challenge your ability to wait any longer to drink it.

An Imperial Porter aged in oak wine barrels accented with juice from Tempranillo grapes grown on the Western Slope of Colorado, this harmonic combination is truly, a must.9.3%Alc. by Vol.

Pierre's Wit, Reverence Series:
Not too long ago the beer world lost one of its modern icons, Pierre Celis. Pierre, almost single-handedly, resurrected what is today one of the most popular styles of craft beer...the Belgian Wit or White Beer - a deliciously refreshing, wheat beer originally created by Belgian farmers in the middle centuries, whose primary crop was wheat. Today, the style has a generous range-of-flavor and is often infused with a variety of spices, primarily coriander and dried citrus fruits. In keeping true to Mr. Celis' homeland of Belgium we additionally brew ours with unmalted wheat using a very thorough mash regime. Here's to you Pierre! ABV- 5.1%, IBU's- 14, OG- 11.9 Plato

Belle Glos Pinot Noir....

In stock and online

Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Pinot Noir 2011....$39.99

Deep scarlet red in color, this wine leaves little to the imagination with rich, expansive aromas of blackberry, raspberry, plum and sweet baking spices like cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. The palate is similarly intense with flavors of ripe blackberries, raspberries, warm cherry pie, blueberry and fresh cranberry, perfectly balanced with velvety tannins and a smooth toasty oak finish. Best described as “Christmas in your mouth!”

The 2011 has not been rated, but the 2010 and 2009 version scored 93 from The Wine Spectator.
2011 was great year for Belle Glos, the "lesser" Belle Glos 2011 Meiomi Pinot Noir already received a score of 92 points (and it only scored a 88 and 87 in the previous two years).  This one is delicious and will score big!
