2020 Andremily No. 9....$129.99
I loved the 2020 No 9 from barrel and this beauty does not disappoint from bottle. Based on 89% Syrah, 9% Mourvèdre, and the rest Viognier that was only 50% destemmed, it spent 22 months in 65% new French oak. A wine that demands lots of air to show at its best, it reveals a deep plum/purple hue as well as a brilliant bouquet of red, blue, and black fruits, ground pepper, iodine, crushed violets, and wild sagebrush. With incredible purity and precision aromatically, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered, concentrated mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a big, rich wine from Binns, but if anything, it shows another level of finesse and stays light on its feet and graceful. This world-class Syrah will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age and evolve nicely over the following two decades. It's clearly one of the wines of the vintage in Santa Barbara, if not one of the greatest 2020s in the state.

2021 Pax Sonoma Hillsides Syrah...$55.99
The 2021 Syrah Sonoma Hillsides is towering and statuesque in bearing from the very first taste. I don’t think I have ever tasted a Sonoma Hillsides with this much finesse, this much purity. A wine of vertical energy, the Sonoma Hillsides possesses tremendous depth from start to finish. In many vintages the Hillsides leans towards a darker expression of Syrah. The 2021, on the other hand, is marked by more of a red/purplish fruit profile, with bright floral and citrus overtones that confer freshness. Once again, Pax Mahle made one of the truly epic wines of the year. His Sonoma Hillsides has been one of the very finest wines in Northern California for a number of years now.

2020 Alban Vineyards Syrah Patrina...$59.99
Bottled in January of 2023, the 2020 Syrah Patrina opens with iodine and cassis, taking time to blossom with scents of tar, blueberry candy and peppermint patty. The palate is full-bodied and highly polished with abundant, velvety tannins, bursts of mouthwatering acidity and a surprisingly ethereal finish.

2021 Dumol Wild Mountainside Sryah Russian River...$66.99
Great fruit concentration and subtle oak spices deserve attention in this ripe, complex and nicely tannic wine. Blackberries, blueberries, rosemary and dark chocolate make a compelling combo on the palate.

2018 Betz Family Winery Domaine de Pierres Syrah...$62.99

Coming from the Ancient Stones Vineyard in the Rocks region of Walla Walla, the 2018 Syrah Domaine De Pierres is 100% Syrah that was not destemmed and was brought up in a mix of small and larger barrels. Classic Rocks notes of red and blue fruits, peppered game, exotic flowers, sweet mulch, and other herbal and cedary notes define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a soft, rounded texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. While it has plenty of funkiness, it also has ample fruit as well as purity. It's approachable today yet will keep for 10-15 years.

2017 K Vintners "The Hidden" Syrah...$69.99

Happy to see it finer-grained than some, but equally intense. Tobacco, ash and dark fruit. Some grilled meat, too. Full-bodied with a spice, white-pepper and hunan finish. Wow is all I can say! Drink or hold.
