a flavored cream liqueur that won World’s Best Cream Liqueur at the 2020 World Liqueur Awards.

Amarula Vanilla Spice is a nod to our African heritage, made from sustainably sourced ingredients: Madagascan vanilla extract; a bold kick of Nigerian ginger; and the rich, sun-ripened marula fruit. We’ve added other warm, sweet spice notes for a smooth, flavourful sip.

Serve it as is or with hot drinks like coffee or a milky latte. It’s also the perfect addition to an Ice Cream Sundae or baked dessert. Enjoy it in your own time and in your own way – as a winter warmer on a cool day; to spice up a dinner party, or on a night out in good company.

TEMPRANILLO SAMPLER PACK

TEMPRANILLO
Also known as Tinta del País, Aragonez, Tinta Roriz, Tinto de Toro, Tinto Fino, Cencibel, and Ull de Llebre

Tempranillo is a black grape variety widely grown to make full-bodied red wines in its native Spain. Its name is the diminutive of the Spanish temprano ("early"), a reference to the fact that it ripens several weeks earlier than most Spanish red grapes. Tempranillo has been grown on the Iberian Peninsula since the time of Phoenician settlements. It is the main grape used in Rioja, and is often referred to as Spain's noble grape. The grape has been planted throughout the globe's wine regions.

In 2015, Tempranillo was the fourth most widely planted wine grape variety worldwide with 232,561 hectares (574,670 acres) under vine, of which 87% was in Spain where it is the most planted red grape variety.

Tempranillo is an early ripening variety that tends to thrive in chalky vineyard soils such as those of the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. In Portugal, where the grape is known as Tinto Roriz and Aragonez, it is blended with others to produce port wine. -- Info from Wikipedia

2019 Tiza La Mancha Tempranillo...$11.99
100% Tempranillo
Tiza means ‘chalk’ - an ode to the soil. The one-foot-deep topsoil is composed of sand and red clay, blended with chunks of pure chalk. Another layer of chalk mixed with sand lies under the soil. The best Cencibel (Tempranillo) vineyards are selected for Tiza. Most are bush vines at 700 meters above sea level with an average age of 30+ years.
This 100% Tempranillo is fermented like a Rhone style red, with whole berry skin contact. Juicy, clean & fresh, with aromas and flavors of ripe black fruit, blueberries, black cherries and hints of dark chocolate. Full bodied with a solid texture, velvety tannins and a slightly sweet, creamy finish. Tiza Tempranillo is a perfect example of bang for the buck!
This Tempranillo pairs well with charcuterie (like Jamón Serrano), Manchego cheese and paella – just think ‘Tapas and Tempranillo’!

2018 Finca Sobreno Toro Crianza....$19.99
100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo)

Viñestral is crafted by Bodegas Marqués de Reinosa, a quality-conscious cooperative founded in the town of Autol (Rioja Baja) in 1956. The wines are great values, offering plenty of classic Rioja character in a ripe and satisfying style that is sure to please.
Tasting Notes: Offers plenty of red and black cherry fruit, with complex spice notes. Well balanced, with soft supple tannins and a persistent finish. Serve With: Soft and fruity enough to be enjoyed on its own, this versatile red is also excellent with tapas and a wide range of red meats.

Made exclusively from indigenous Lisboan grapes, this easy-drinking, good-looking, well-balanced Portuguese wine will quickly become the talk of the town. The grapes ripen slowly producing a rich, juicy wine loaded with red fruits. Well balanced and delicious. We bet you you’ll like it.  Lisbon has always been about discoveries. The Atlantic Ocean gave the city every reason to explore, learn from, and engage with other cultures. It also gave it every reason to be the strength of Portugal’s empire that spread across the world. Jackpot is but one more treasure from the land of discovery. In honor of one of Europe’s oldest casinos still in operation (since 1931), The Casino of Estoril, Jackpot is about calling on our history and our future.

2016 Muga Rioja Reserva...$29.99
70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 10% Mazuelo & Graciano

This is really tight and powerful with gorgeous tannins and solid fruit. Full body. Tight and composed. Wet earth, smoked meat and hints of black truffles. Very long and powerful. Wonderful length. Real Rioja. One of the top best-value, high-quality reds in Spain. Drink or hold
Rated 95/100 James Suckling
The largest volume of the Muga winery is for the red blend 2016 Reserva, a wine that is sold as 2016 Crianza in Spain (for commercial reasons). This has the Muga style and the imprint of the cool and fresh 2016 vintage, one of the best vintages of recent years. 2016 is also a year of harmony and freshness that reminds me a little of the 2010. But the Muga family thinks it's somewhere between 2010 and 2011, because for them 2011 is not so warm, even if it generally produced quite ripe wines. It has a mixture of red and black fruit with sweet spices that are very integrated and in harmony. The palate is silky and clean, and the tannins are round and gentle. A delicious Reserva/Crianza.
Rated 93/100 The Wine Advocate

2017 Booker Vineyard Tempranillo...$49.99
100% Tempranillo
Along with Epoch, Jensen makes one of the finest Tempranillo out there. The 2017 Tempranillo offers terrific blue fruits, pepper, violets, and spice-driven aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied, with remarkable purity, plenty of classic Tempranillo tannins, and a great finish. It has upfront charm given its balance, yet I suspect it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age.

Marc is France's version of Grappa.  It is a brandy made from the skins, seeds, and pomace from grapes after wine is made.

Guillemot Michel Sophie Marc de Bourgogne....$69.99
Distilled in 2012
Made from destemmed Chardonnay
Certified Biodyanimc
Grapes are harvested at full maturity from vines 55 years old on average; they are destemmed and fermented immediately after pressing. Distillation takes place around one month after harvest (during autumn/early winter) in the estate's two traditional copper stills. The Marc is then aged 2- 4 years in special old oak barrels that comes from other biodynamic estates in Burgundy (such as de Montille, d'Angerville, Leflaive, La Soufrandière, etc.). They housed white wine for at least 7-10 years, and as a result, they bring aroma and complexity, but without an abundance of tannins.

Aromas of almonds, vanilla, caramel, lemon peel and spice are met with honey and floral notes. It boasts complexity with a creamy, round texture and elegance.

KENTUCKY STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY
Cask Strength Releases
Our Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskeys are offered as a Cask Strength release. Once our traditional sweet mash process is distilled in our column stills we enter the barrel at the lowest entry proof we know of in Kentucky. We barrel at 100 proof and 105 proof to highlight the balance of the distillate and alternate solubility expression we get from the barrel at a lower proof. We also barreled at a gradient of proofs between 100 and 120 proof for our first few years before settling into 100 and 105 proof. This is the reason you will find releases of our cask strength Rye varying in proof.
Our three-grain recipe is 56 percent rye, 33 percent corn and 11 percent malted barley. Our rye mash bill is one we created for a broader balance of flavor to offset the typical high ryes commonly found. We use Kentucky-grown Heritage rye from our local KY Proud farm. We enter the new, air-dried #4 char, 53-gallon barrels at 100 proof and 105 proof for our Rye Whiskey and age until maturity in our barrelhouse. We age our Rye Whiskeys on the upper floors of our rickhouses for a minimum of 4 years with regular expressions expected to be between 6 and 8 years of age.

Side Project Brewing Continuance TWCP 2021

Emails sent yesterday- check your email

"Paul has been supporting Karen and me long before we had Side Project, and when Side Project did start, he would gift us incredible barrels for small projects, well before Side Project had any clout or demand. He was one of our earliest supporters and we will always thank him for that.   With that said, as we have grown, I have begun to start to feel bad that the only way TWCP and Paul would get a beer from us, is if he would get us barrels - so I set out to make our own beer as another Thank You to them! They already get Merci blended for them, but I wanted to experiment and expand into a non-funky beer for them to add to the TWCP lineup.

While dropping off TWCP Derivation last year, I brought up the idea of blending a Barleywine for them, and what I came up with was a blend of the Double Barrel Aged M.J.K. barrels that were then subtly touched with Mexican Vanilla Beans. I felt that this would fit perfectly into the Continuance line and allow us to start gently experimenting with adding adjuncts to Barleywines. The resulting beer is definitely worthy of the TWCP nomenclature and since it is something that we blended - and not exclusively from TWCP barrels - we do have a very limited amount to offer to our La Coterie members this time around!

These barrels were all Double Barrel versions of all three of the M.J.K. recipes. They rested between 20 and 39 months in hand selected Willett 4 year and 8 year old Bourbon barrels before being blended and subtly enhanced with a light addition of Mexican Vanilla Beans. The amount of vanilla used was a very small fraction when compared to what we use in beers like O.W.K., D11, D13 and others, as we didn't want to hide the beauty of the base beer, but we wanted to add a new layer, a new complexity to an already exciting beer.

Thank you all once again for all of your support. I love this beer and am very happy to be able to share it with you. Have a great week and see all of you very soon!"
 ---- Cory King, Side Project
