Bordiga Centum Herbis

Bordiga Centum Herbis...$39.99 / 750ml

Region: Piedmont, Italy
Product Type: Herbal Liqueur
Primary Botanicals: Genepy, wild alpine peppermint, thyme, eucalyptus, chamomile, wormwood, fennel, lavender, nutmeg, cinnamon, and juniper
Botanical Source: Local are wild foraged between 500 and 1700 meters, with the majority above 800. Genepy, a protected plant, is the exception, and is cultivated above 2000 meters. Others sourced from Asia.
Finished ABV: 28%
Method of Production: Botanicals infused individually in organic neutral wheat spirit for 20-50 days. Alpine water and beet sugar added. Rested 20-30 days in stainless steel. Paper-filtered.

Bordiga was started in 1888 by Pietro Bordiga, a bartender in Torino when the city was the epicenter of Italian spirts and cocktail culture. He decided to locate his distillery in the small town of Cuneo because it offered him a strategic position a little over an hour south of Torino, and also close to the Occitan Alps, where he was sourcing his wild botanicals. The climate there, influenced equally by altitude and proximity to the Mediterranean sea, creates herbs that are particularly rich in essential oils and aromas. His great-grandson, also named Pietro Bordiga, still lives above the distillery.
Centum Herbis (translation: 100 herbs) is part of a group of Italian liqueurs called Centoerbe which are indigenous to the alps and other mountainous regions. Bordiga’s rendition, unique because of its lower ABV, defines itself with a brighter, more floral bouquet of aromatics. Genepy forward, and packed with mint and fresh green herb, it has a delicate finish and pairs well with a variety of spirits and other modifiers.

MORE INFO ON THE FEATURED WHISKIES
Backbone Bourbon Whiskey “The Forge”....$74.99 (Very limited!!!)
110 Proof
Backbone “The Forge” is blended bourbon where at least 51% or more of the blend is Straight Bourbon. We spent several months coming up with the blend. Our starting point was simple – how could we use our older barrels of whiskey to create something that was outstanding and stood apart from other high-end American whiskeys. The bulk of the blend is some of our best Straight Bourbon barrels between 5 & 7 years old. We also included some older Straight Rye and some wonderful barrels of Light Whiskey that were barreled in 2006. The right combination of these mature whiskeys including a stout proof of 110 allowed us to create a rich and decadent blend.

New Rogue releases

Rogue Knuckle Buster Cold IPA...$11.99 / 6pk 12oz cans
At Rogue, we are always working on new ideas that break from the norm; this collaboration is no different. Our friends at Revival Cycles in Austin, Texas also like to push the envelope with their hand-built motorcycles, so teaming up on a new style of IPA that uses a cold fermentation technique just made sense. Knuckle Buster Cold IPA turns out fairly light in body with a floral hop aroma and flavor. It drinks crisp and refreshing, perfect for winding down after busting your knuckles in the garage all day.

Rogue Ales Gumberoo West Coast IPA...$11.99 / 6pk 12oz cans
Ever hear the story of the Gumberoo? As the story goes, three loggers were camped in the woods drinking beers and entertaining the idea of illegally harvesting old growth sequoias for extra cash when the ground suddenly shook with a heavy footstep. Bigger than a bear with wild eyes and jagged teeth, the Gumberoo rose from behind a stump with a mighty roar. As the loggers scrambled to escape, beer spilled onto the fire causing smoke to fill the air. Some say the forest only wanted to send them a warning that night as this stroke of smokey fortune helped hold off the Gumberoo while the loggers got away. So remember to respect our forests, put out your fires and always bring cold beer camping.

Off Color Brewing Beer for Hell

Off Color Brewing Beer for Hell....$10.99 / 4pk 16oz cans
Helles Bock Style Beer
TASTING NOTES:  Previously reserved for the brewing staff taking pours off the fermenter, our helles bock lager features clean malt notes with enough of a fruity, boozy mouthfeel to tempt you further. So give in and enjoy our little slice of hell.
SECRET TECHNIQUE:  Although our base Helles Bock was designed simply to pick up notes of whiskey during a rest in oak barrels for Beer for Burgers, our staff just kept going back to the zwickel for after shift beers. We ordered fewer oak barrels for Beer for Burgers assuming they had drank several barrels of beer. Turns out they drank much less than we thought so we had this extra helles bock left over.
INGREDIENTS:  Pils, Vienna, Munich, Magnum and Hersbrucker hops, Yeast and Water
