2022 Domaine Clo L'Original Chardonnay Loire Valley...$19.99
100% hand-harvested Chardonnay from the Loire Valley!!! Clear, bright straw-yellow color with greenish hues. On the nose, fresh aromas of green apple, pear, and citrus like lemon and grapefruit, with subtle floral notes of white blossoms. The palate is lively and refreshing, with crisp acidity and flavors mirroring the nose complemented by a touch of melon and a clean, mineral finish. This wine is balanced and medium-bodied, with a smooth texture and a pleasantly lingering finish.
This is an excellent companion to seafood dishes like oysters, grilled fish, and shrimp scampi. As well as light salads, goat cheese, and white meat. For vegetarian options, try it with vegetable quiches, asparagus risotto, or a simple tomato and basil pasta. Wine can be kept 4-5 years.

Loire Chardonnay? A true rarity
Chardonnay is not a traditional Loire grape, producers like Clo are breaking norms. When a winemaker like Clo chooses to bottle a Chardonnay from the Loire, it’s a conscious, non-traditional choice—often inspired by natural wine practices and a desire to express terroir beyond regulatory confines. Extremely limited in volume—only a few Loire producers bottle a still Chardonnay as a varietal wine.
