2016 Vajra

2016 Vajra Barolo
Simply put, these wines punch as far above their weight as any set of wines I have ever tasted. 2016 is a special vintage for Piedmonte and this set of wines from G.D. Vajra are as special as they come.

2016 G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe....$38.99
Elegant and expressive, this red evokes cherry, raspberry and floral notes, aligned to a refined structure. This is balanced and leaves an aftertaste of fruit, tobacco and iron.
Rated 94/100 The Wine Spectator

2016 G.D. Vajra Barolo Coste di Rose...$65.99
Dusty cherry, black currant, eucalyptus and hay aromas and flavors highlight this energetic red. There is purity to the beam of fruit, and while the structure is muscular, the lasting impression is of sweet fruit. Best from 2023 through 2045. 400 cases made.
Rated 95/100 The Wine Spectator

2016 G.D. Vajra Barolo Ravera....$84.99
Alluring aromas of cherry, rose and graphite settle into a core of cherry and strawberry fruit, with nuances of iron, tobacco and tar. Sleek, yet intense and complex, unfolding effortlessly through the long finish.
Rated 97/100 The Wine Spectator
Rated 96/100 Vinous Media

2016 G.D Vajra Barolo Bricco Violle....$84.99
Mint and cut grass aromas give way to cherry, black currant and raspberry fruit in this juicy red. Tar, tobacco and eucalyptus accents add depth as this builds to a long, gripping finish. Shows fine balance and length
