Glenmorangie Ealanta...$104.99
Dr. Bill Lumsden, Head of Whisky Creation, journeyed from the banks of the Dornoch Firth to the Mark Twain National Forest in the Missouri Ozark Mountains in the quest for the finest wood in which to mature Glenmorangie. Aged exclusively in hand-selected virgin casks made of slow-growth American oak, air-dried and never seasoned with Bourbon (as most other whisky casks are) ‘Ealanta’ is possibly the purest expression of whisky that Glenmorangie has ever created.

More info about Dr. Lumsden
In his role as Director of Distilling, Whisky Creation and Whisky Stocks for The Glenmorangie Company, Dr Lumsden oversees the creation of Glenmorangie’s ‘unnecessarily well made’ spirit that originates in the Highlands of Scotland. The ‘Ultimate Islay Malt’ that is Ardbeg, crafted on the wild and untamed shores of Islay is also under his expert leadership.

Holding a PhD in Biochemistry, he combines his talent for both art and science and is renowned for his ground-breaking wood management techniques, experimentation with exceptional casks at various ages, and utilisation of extra maturation to deliver outstanding whiskies.

Dr Lumsden is regarded as a pioneer of innovation in the malt whisky industry and tours the world searching for the best oak casks that will complement Glenmorangie’s whiskies and impart unique characteristics all of their own.

He is the only person to have been honoured three times with The Malt Advocate ‘Industry Leader of the Year’ Award in in 2001, 2006 and 2008. Dr Lumsden was also awarded the IWSC ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry’ in 2010.
