"Our gold medal-winning Saison was the starting point for this limited edition ale. It was then dry hopped, followed by bottle conditioning with various yeasts, including Brettanamyces, a wild strain that imparts a distinctive earthy quality. Though this farmhouse ale was given three months of bottle age prior to release, further cellaring will continue to enhance the "Brett" character, if that's what your after. Our Special Release Ales are produced in batches so small that we individually number each bottle. When they're gone, they're gone." -- back label
[11/4 Update: From Brewmaster, Stephen Hale: "We do indeed plan to have limited distribution for these four beers, primarily because of our batch size (~14 bbls., we’ll brew one for 750 ml. bottles, and one for draft). The distribution details are still being discussed, but I can give you the current estimated release dates for all four beers:
Beer #1 (Imperial Pilsner, as you know) 26 December 2010, but likely only at our two pubs, with further distribution beginning the next day.

"A new chapter begins at Boulevard Brewing Company this week as we started shipping some of our Smokestack Series brews in a 12-ounce proprietary bottle. It has been a project we’ve been working on for some time. The process to get a glass completely unique to Boulevard took more than a year to come to fruition. Then there was making sure the beer would live happily in the new size as it does in the 750mL bottle and of course all of the artwork that goes into a new package isn’t created overnight either.
