2022 Domaine de Fondreche Ventoux Rouge...$21.99
60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre
The big black fruit has excellent youthful freshness and the tannins are enough to give this full-bodied Rhone red a very clear line, but are not in the least dominant. A touch of tar and soot add interest to this bold wine. Long, firm finish with a hint of stony character. A cuvee of grenache, syrah and mourvedre from organically grown grapes. Matured in a mix of foudres and eggs. Drink or hold.

Chateau Routas is situated within the “Coteaux Varois en Provence”, a key appellation of the Provence wine region in the far South East of France. It was introduced in March 1993 as a complement to the “Cotes de Provence” created 16 years earlier. The appellation is an enclave of the “Cote de Provence”.
Blend: 38% Cinsault, 32% Grenache, 23% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon

Black fruits give a solid feel to this wine. It has weight, supported by the tannins, plus fine acidity to back it all up. The wine is still young, drink from 2025.

An elegant garnet color. The nose is complex, made of red fruit, highlighted by fresh spices and clove. It is a fleshy wine with smooth tannins. The long palate is underlined by black fruit with a hint of toast. The wine is ready to be drunk now or can be aged for another 5 to 10 years.
