About Champagne Marguet

  • Biodynamic Pioneers: Marguet has been practicing biodynamic viticulture since 2009, using no synthetic chemicals and relying on natural preparations to enhance soil health and vine vitality.

  • Horse-Powered Vineyards: Horses are used to plow the vineyards, reducing soil compaction and maintaining a harmonious relationship with the environment.

  • Terroir-Driven Wines: Marguet focuses on single-vineyard Champagnes, such as those from the Grand Cru sites of Ambonnay (e.g., Les Crayères) and Bouzy, emphasizing the unique characteristics of each plot.

  • Minimal Intervention: Benoît Marguet adopts a minimalist approach in winemaking, with natural fermentations, minimal sulfur use, and aging in neutral oak barrels to allow the terroir to shine.

  • Biodynamic Calendar: Even the timing of vineyard work and wine-related activities follows the lunar and biodynamic calendar, enhancing the connection to nature.

  • Zero Dosage Focus: Many of Marguet's wines are zero dosage, meaning no sugar is added after disgorgement. This showcases the purity and balance of the base wines.

  • Sustainability Beyond the Vineyard: Marguet uses eco-friendly packaging and is committed to reducing its carbon footprint throughout production.

  • Distinctive Flavor Profile: Marguet Champagnes are known for their vibrant acidity, intense minerality, and layers of complexity, offering an authentic expression of the Montagne de Reims terroir.

  • Limited Production, High Demand: With a focus on quality over quantity, Marguet produces a limited number of bottles annually, making them highly sought after by Champagne aficionados.

  • Celebrated Single-Vineyards: Iconic lieux-dits like Les Crayères and Le Parc are bottled separately to highlight their distinct personalities.

Marguet's innovative practices and dedication to sustainability have earned the estate a reputation as one of the most exciting grower Champagne producers in the region.
