Our 4-year-old straight rye whiskey was finished in vermouth, bitters, and cherry brandy barrels for an additional 20 months, then blended back together to create this unique Manhattan Finish Blend of Straight Rye Whiskeys. The nose delivers herbaceous notes followed by flavors of rye baking spices and dark cherry. This is an incredible whiskey to make a classic Manhattan cocktail, or to savour on its own.

After aging our straight rye whiskey for 4 to 5 years in high-char new American oak barrels, our distillers transfer the aged whiskey into toasted wave stave barrels for an additional 18 months. The increased surface area of the low-char, medium-plus-toast staves imparts Double Oak’s delightful caramel, toffee, hazelnut, and toasted coconut. Our classic Maryland-style rye whiskey is reimagined through this innovative aging process and then proofed with limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909. The final spirit is a shining example of old meeting new.

Our Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is a blend of straight high-rye and low-rye mash bills aged 4 to 7 years. The 7-year-old contributes deeper chocolate, hazelnut, and molasses characteristics and the 4-year-old adds bright citrus notes and balanced spice. After our distillers select and blend these straight rye whiskies, they add just a touch of limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909. Cask Strength is complex and perfectly layered, showcasing the transformational art of blending.
