Our story is a bit unconventional, because we never intended on making a whiskey brand. Our team was developing other people’s spirits before Doc Swinson’s was born.
Doc Swinson’s evolved from a pet project. Our collection started in 2017 with 10 casks, a small warehouse, and a love for blending and finishing.
Since then we’ve continued to grow and grow and grow. We discovered that the more we put into Docs, the more it gave out. It's the labor of love and exploration of flavors that make Docs whiskey so unique.

Port may be the most recognizable fortified wine from Portugal, but Moscatel de Setubal is a Portuguese staple. Artfully produced on the Setubal Peninsula near Lisbon in the south of Portugal, Moscatel is a truly unique fortified wine to the region with robust citrus and rich sweetness. These aromatic casks were used for a decade before making their way across the Atlantic to Doc Swinson's maturation house to be filled with bourbon. After several months of aging, expressive notes of orange zest, honey and toffee complement the rich spices of Doc Swinson's Bourbon.
