Royal Salute was created to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth Il in 1953 and takes its name from the ceremonial 21-gun salute fired from the Tower of London
to mark royal occasions. The Royal Salute 26-Year-Old Scottish Oak Cask Finish is part of a special series that pays tribute to the magic of kingdoms; exploring their majesty, history and symbolism, and celebrating the unique connection between crown and country. For this limited edition, Royal Salute has drawn inspiration from the glorious wilds of Scotland, a kingdom with which we hold a special, deep-rooted connection, and the place that Royal Salute calls home. An enchanting land full of rich history, ancient traditions and majestic landscapes, we pay tribute to this mighty kingdom by finishing our exceptional 26-Year-Old blended Scotch Whisky in virgin Scottish oak casks for the very first time. Felled from a single forest in the heart of Scotland, the rare wood of these casks brings distinctive toasted flavours to the sweetness of the Royal Salute blend. Sandy Hyslop, Royal Salute Master Blender, has expertly balanced the ripe orchard fruit notes of red apple and plum with the richness of aromatic oak, creating a unique blend with extraordinary depth of flavour.
