THE WINE & CHEESE PLACE EXPANDS WITH NEW CONCEPT
LAUNCHES CO-OP FOR LOCAL MAKERS
St. Louis, MO – May 16, 2022
Spirit Wine & Craft, a new retail concept by The Wine & Cheese Place, will officially open its doors in the South Hampton neighborhood on Tuesday, May 24. A soft open is planned for this Saturday, May 21.
Spirit Wine & Craft will feature over 600 whiskeys, 400 wines, 400 craft beers, several cheeses and gourmet foods, as well as gift items and a large selection of other spirits.
According to owner Vijay Shroff, Spirit Wine & Craft will have similar offerings to the four existing The Wine & Cheese Place stores, but in a smaller retail footprint with a more focused selection and slimmed-down food section.
“I am very proud to open a store within St. Louis City and to serve the many City based customers who currently travel into the County to visit us,” said Mr. Shroff. “We’ve received an outpouring of interest and encouragement from the neighborhood since we started renovating the space and hope to become a valued amenity for all of our new neighbors. We also have plans to expand with other Spirit Wine & Craft locations in the greater metro area.”
To help support other locally owned small businesses, the store has planned the Spirit Co-op, a specifically designed section of the store that will exclusive showcase products made by local craftspeople for whom a traditional wholesale arrangement is not financially viable. “As a locally raised businessperson, I want to provide St. Louis area craftspeople and artisans who may not have their own brick and mortar store an opportunity to reach our customers and together further our mission to delight the neighborhoods we serve,” said Mr. Shroff. Spirit Wine & Craft will be located at 5760 Chippewa St., at the corner of Sulphur and a block east of Hampton. Store opening hours will be Tuesday through Saturday, 11AM until 7PM, Sundays 11AM until 3PM and closed Mondays. Dedicated off-street and bicycle parking is available. Delivery service will begin later this year.
