Brewed to support ACLU in their mission to protect civil liberties for all Americans, People Power is a nationwide collab that celebrates the unique privilege of self-determination we strive to protect for all Americans. This election had record turnout, which is a fact worth celebrating regardless of politics.
Most of the dozens of other versions of People Power (led by our friends @threesbrewing and @peoplepowerbeer) were released before Election Day. We had planned to release this beer two weeks ago, but instead we watched with shock and horror as the US Capitol was stormed by a violent mob of homegrown terrorists. Democracy is not always a straightforward or elegant affair, but that was absolutely beyond the pale. Clearly we have a lot of healing and growth to do as a nation. We are proud to be an open and affirming brewery, and will continue our work in 2021 and beyond. As John Lewis noted (see can-bottom), “we must be our own legacy.”
