2018 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir 'Summa Vyd'...$63.99
The 2018 Pinot Noir Summa Old Vines is dense, powerful and packed. Savory herb, licorice, menthol, anise and dried rose petal add striking layers of complexity. In most vintages, the Old Vines can be ethereal and fleeting, but in 2018 packs a serious punch. I would give it a few years in bottle to be at its best.
Rated 98/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
The 2018 Pinot Noir Summa Vineyard is another gorgeous wine. In almost any other range, it could be the highlight, but the Rivers-Marie 2018s are brilliant across the board. In the glass, the 2018 offers a striking balance of floral intensity, fruit and structure. All of that makes the Summa the most complete and satisfying wine to drink in the early going. Rose petal, mint, exotic spice and earthy tones add complexity throughout

2018 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir 'Silver Eagle'...$63.99
On another level aromatically, the 2018 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard has a gorgeous nose of black raspberries, lit gunpowder, spice, dried flowers, and hints of pine forest. This carries to an ethereal, elegant Pinot Noir with perfectly integrated acidity and tannins, terrific mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It's just a beautiful Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir in every sense.
Rated 98/100 Jeb Dunnuck
The 2018 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard is one of the more fragrant, aromatic wines in this range. The blend of Vosne-Romanée, Calera and Swan clones yields a lifted, perfumed Pinot with a lot of spice and earthy notes. Sweet red cherry, mint, cedar, tobacco and dried flowers are all very nicely lifted in this mid-weight Pinot. I would give the 2018 at least a few years in bottle, as I think there is more here than the wine is showing at present. All of this fruit is destemmed, but the Silver Eagle is decidedly savory and floral.

2018 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir 'Bearwallow Vyd'...$63.99
Moving to the Pinot Noirs, these are all brilliant wines. The 2018 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard from the Anderson Valley offers a vivid ruby/purple hue as well as great aromatics of Bing cherries, raspberries, crushed violets, and crushed stone. It has the classic savoriness that's common from Anderson Valley and is medium to full-bodied, with wonderful fruit, ripe tannins, and a great finish.
Rated 94/100 Jeb Dunnuck
The 2018 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is dark, fleshy and super-expressive. Dark cherry, spice, menthol and new leather all infuse the 2018 with striking depth as well as nuance. This is such a gorgeous and inviting Anderson Valley Pinot. Rose petal, spice, blood orange and bright red cherry fruit give this vibrant Pinot tons of appeal. This is such a beautiful wine.

2018 Rivers-Marie Chardonnay Sonoma Coast...$43.99
The appellation 2018 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is what you call a Killer Value! Selling for a song, it offers rich, powerful aromas and flavors of buttered orchard fruits, honeysuckle, white flowers, and orange blossom. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and offering both opulence and elegance, this is a wine to buy by the case. It should keep for 5-7 years. There are only a little over 100 cases made, so scare up bottles if you can.
Rated 94/100 Jeb Dunnuck
The 2018 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) is such a beautiful wine. Pliant and creamy, the 2018 offers a striking interplay of vibrancy and fruit depth. Apricot, mint, dried flowers and light tropical inflections add myriad shades of complexity to this striking, expressive appellation-level Chardonnay. The 2018 is a blend of fruit mostly from Riddle and Thieriot.

2018 Rivers-Marie Chardonnay 'Platt Vyd.' ...$63.99
The 2018 Chardonnay Platt Vineyard is another salty, mineral-laced, racy Chardonnay. Notes of apple blossom, lemon curd, crushed stone, and toasted bread all flow to a medium-bodied effort that has bright yet integrated acidity, rock-solid mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It might be my favorite in the lineup.
Rated 97/100 Jeb Dunnuck
In 2018, the Chardonnay Platt Vineyard is fabulous. Rich and luscious, the 2018 shows why this site is so highly regarded. The Platt is a wonderfully complete wine endowed with striking aromatic presence, tons of depth and plenty of supporting structure. Apricot, sage, mint and tropical notes all open up in the glass. Today, the Platt feels a bit phenolic and tight. Then again, it was just bottled a month ago.

2018 Rivers-Marie Chardonnay 'Joy Road' ....$51.99
Crushed citrus, acacia flowers, salty minerality, and a kiss of honeysuckle all emerge from the 2018 Chardonnay Joy Road Vineyard, another vibrant, racy, yet concentrated white from this team. Not far off the style of the Purrington Rued Vineyard release with it's more focused, pretty style, it's going to keep for a decade or more.
Rated 96/100 Jeb Dunnuck
The 2018 Chardonnay Joy Road Vineyard is another wonderfully nuanced wine in this range. Lemon confit, white flowers, butter, mint and a touch of reduction all grace the Joy Road. Finessed and exquisite to the core, the Joy Road is another sublime Chardonnay in this range. In 2018, the Joy Road has an unctuous feel that is hugely appealing.
