Sidonio de Sousa Rose Brut Nature....$16.99
The NV Rosé Brut Nature Espumante is a bone-dry Baga. The producer calls this the entry level, but it is pretty special for an entry level. It's crisp, toasty and concentrated, with power on the finish. This is a very fine bargain, a little less complex and intense than its sibling, the 2015 Rosé Special Cuvée this issue, but rounder and more caressing. I had a modest preference for the more interesting Special Cuvée, but this is well done.

Sidonio de Sousa Espumante Special Cuvee Brut Nature...$16.99
The NV Espumante Special Cuvée Brut Nature is a blend of 30% Bical, 30% Maria Gomes and 40% Arinto (notably heavier on the Arinto here than on the regular NV bottling) that spent approximately 18 months on the lees. It comes in at 12% alcohol. Relatively big and toasty for a young sparkler, with an oxidative touch, this has fine grip on the tight finish. This Bruto Nature has no dosage, of course (that tends to be how it works here and in most of the region), and all that Arinto certainly helps with acidity. It shows good concentration, too. This is very nice and just a bit complex as well as enlivening. It is a fine value as well.Rated 90/100 The Wine Advocate

Domaine Collin Cremant de Limoux Brut....$19.99
The Collin family has made Champagne for generations but Philippe Collin moved to Limoux to establish his own domaine, where land is a fraction of the price and the region has a history of fine sparkling. The local Mauzac grape here has been replaced by a classic Champagne blend. It’s bright and lively with zippy acidity, ripe apple fruit and fine texture. Shows what the area is capable of.

Domaine Collin Cremant de Limoux Brut Rose...$19.99
Chardonnay 75% Chenin Blanc 15% Pinot Noir 10%
Philippe Collin, a native of Champagne, moved to Limoux in 1980 to establish his own domaine. Though his family has made Champagne for generations, the opportunities in this sought after, and extremely expensive area, were very limited.

Grandin Brut French Sparkling...$13.99
Since 1886, Grandin has produced an excellent quality sparkling wine from the Loire Valley, home to the world's finest sparkling wines. At a reasonable price, Grandin produces exclusively by the “Méthode Traditionelle.” Identical to the method used in Champagne, the "Méthode Traditionelle" requires rigorous grape selection and constant quality.
"I think if you are looking for a well-priced French sparkling in a similar style to Champagne..." - Champagne Cartel

Imaginarium Blanc de Blancs Brut Methode Traditionelle....$17.99
Top-Value Sparkling from Jean Charles Boisset, one of Burgundy’s Finest producers.
Only 1,000 cases produced each year
Aged 12 months on the lees
"The NV Imaginarium Blanc de Blancs is a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Ugni Blanc and French Colombard made using the traditional method with 12 months on the lees. It has a lovely perfumed nose of lemon drops, honeysuckle and peach blossoms with touches of apple pie and baking bread. The palate is elegant, fresh, zippy and invigorating with lovely tension and great intensity."
