Von Winning "GG"

2015 Von Winning Deidesheimer Grainhübel Riesling Trocken "GG"...$39.99
Von Winning's citrus-colored 2015 Deidesheimer Grainhübel Riesling Trocken GG has a coolish, clear, fresh and concentrated lemon aroma. It also has precise and smoky flavors of crushed rocks. Round and piquant, this is a very salty, vital and linear Riesling that is very stimulating, finessed and elegant. The wine reveals a nice phenolic grip and lemony aftertaste with white stone fruit aromas. This is a still restrained, but spectacularly concentrated Riesling classic and pretty fresh and vital for 2015.
Rated 92-94/100 The Wine Advocate

"GG"- Grosse Gewachs
(Great Growths of Germany)
For a wine to be labeled Grosse Gewachs the fruit must come from one of Germany's Grosse Lage Vineyards,a designation used only for Germany's very best vineyard sites - small, carefully demarcated areas with clear site-specific characteristics. Yields on these sites are limited to 50hl/ha. These wines are fermented to dry and represent the finest expression of Dry Riesling coming from Germany.
