Moreau highly rated Chablis

2014 Domaine Christian Moreau Chablis

“There wines brimmed over with energy, pocket dynamos that are going to light up dinner tables down the years because I am sure there will be long-lived.”-Neal Martin The Wine Advocate
“Having had a chance to taste these wines in February I have been anxiously awaiting their arrival.  2014 is a brilliant year for Chablis in general and Domaine Christian Moreau particular”- Aaron Zwicker, Wine Buyer for The Wine and Cheese Place Forsyth

2014 Christian Moreau Chablis AC....$26.99
Precision and harmony define this white, with apple, lemon and mineral flavors, defined by the vibrant acidity. Just a hint of green plum shows on the lingering finish. Drink now through 2020
Rated 90/100 The Wine Spectator

2014 Christian Moreau Chablis Vaudesir Grand Cru...$87.99
The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir is austere, reserved and introspective on the nose with light marine influence, oyster shell and cockleshells developing in tandem in the glass. The palate is vibrant, crisp and focused, perhaps not quite as "dramatic" as the Blanchots, but poised and "classic" on the bitter lemon-tinged finish. I suspect this will turn into an elegant Vaudésir, just a notch above the 2013.
Rated 93-95/100 The Wine Advocate

2014 Christian Moreau Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru...$96.99
Bright yellow. Compelling perfume of lime zest, mirabelle, salty sea breeze, spices and smoky silex. Juicy, spicy and intense, conveying an impression of density without weight, with an element of minty cut contributing energy. The rising, palate-staining finish saturates the mouth with saline minerality.
Rated 92-95/100 Vinous Media
Rated 95/100 Decanter

2014 Christian Moreau Chablis Valmur Grand Cru....$86.99
The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur about an equal blend of barrel and tank, was showing just a touch of reduction on the nose, though underneath one can detect the uncompromising granite and flinty scents waiting to take center stage. The palate is a little more rounded in texture than the Vaudésir: very good intensity with orange zest and a touch of apricot toward the elegant and poised finish. This is a class act and another great grand cru '14 from winemaker, Fabien Moreau.
Rated 93-95/100 The Wine Advocate

2014 Christian Moreau Chablis Blanchots Grand Cru... $86.99
The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Blanchots was tight-lipped when I tasted it at the Domaine despite rigorous coaxing. The palate is crisp and fresh with penetrating acidity, animated and tensile with compelling mineralité on the finish that is on a different level to the previous vintage. There is just a barrel and a feuillette this year, the former not finishing its malo until June, the feuillette back in January! But this assemblage shows a stupendous Blanchots in the making
Rated 93-95/100 The Wine Advocate
