Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky - South Africa

Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky...$24.99
South Africa’s first single grain whisky, Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky, has been announced as the World’s Best Grain Whisky at the annual Whisky Magazine’s World Whisky Awards (WWA) held in London last night (21 March 2013).

Andy Watts Master Distiller

The success of Bain’s comes down to one, innovative man and his passion for perfection, Master Distiller Andy Watts. In 1991, Andy became only the sixth manager of the home of Bain’s, The James Sedgwick Distillery, since its establishment in 1886. In the quarter century that he’s been there, he has become a world renowned Whisky Master, by winning countless awards and accolades.

Bain’s Single Grain Whisky is a double matured whisky produced from 100% South African Yellow Maize, you may call this corn. We first mature it in specially selected first-fill bourbon casks for a period of three years, we then transfer it to a second set of first-fill bourbon casks for a further 18 to 30 months to extract a full rich flavor like no other.

golden amber
NOSE: Combination of toffee,
floral and vanilla aromas
PALATE: A hint of spice softened by
the sweet undertones of oak

with an exceptionally smooth finish
