92 Point Red!! Under $20

It does not just say it on the label, this is truly old vine Carignan - 75-135 year old vines!!

2011 La Font de L'Oliver Carignan V.V.
Cotes de Thongue...$17.99
Much more sexy and sweetly fruited than the 2010, the 2011 Carignan Vieilles Vignes sports a ruby/purple color to go with sumptuous notes of sweet blackberries, lavender, smoked earth and spice. Made from some seriously old Carignan vines (some of which go back over 135 years) and aged all in tank, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and silky on the palate, with fine tannin and a hard to resist personality. Despite the upfront nature here, it's impeccably balanced and will evolve nicely through at least 2020.

Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate
