Ramos de Valle Hard Cider

6.3% Hard Cider
Ramos de Valle Sidra de Asturias....$9.99 / 22oz
Sidra Fran is an all-natural, hard cider made in the Asturias region of northern Spain. The cider is made with traditional methods using only native apples from the region. Founded 1918, Roberto Ramos is the third generation of his family to make cider.
The cider making process is 100% artisanal. Apple harvesting takes place in September. The apples then ferment naturally and the cider rests in contact with the lees for over five months. No sugar or carbonation is added to the cider.
An interesting aspect of this cider is how the carbonation is produced naturally when its poured. It should be poured in very small quantities into a wide glass using a technique called “escanciar,” which creates a light natural sparkling taste. The cider is also poured from large vats in traditional Espichas.
Sidra Fran is a great treat to have in the US as traditional natural ciders are usually consumed only regionally.  Sidra Ramos del Valle was chosen best cider in Asturias at the Festival de la Sidra de Nava.
