"Chaumes des Perrieres"
"Bourgogne Chaume des Perrieres comes from a parcel of vines in the Dos d’Ane vineyard, between the hamlet of Blagny and Meursault Perrieres. It was classified as Meursault when Dupont’s grandfather purchased it in 1975, but after he received permission from the authorities to ameliorate its stony soil with a layer of top soil, a dispute arose with neighbors and his property declassified. But the kinship with neighboring stony vineyards – the roots, as Dupont points out, having long since deeply penetrated the mother chalk."
- The Wine Advocate
Son of Michel, Raymond has in just a short career as winemaker, produced some stunningly great wines from humble appellations - Auxey and Bourgogne. His most unique cuvee is the Bourgogne Chaumes des Perrieres, from a vineyard adjoining Meursault Premier Cru Les Perrieres, but only classified as appellation Bourgogne. 40 year-old vines, low yields and barrel fermentation, in the hands of Raymond, yield perhaps the greatest "Bourgogne" blanc in the world.
