2012 Bergstrom Oregon Pinot Noir

In stock now at Forsyth

We are giving you a heads up - do not miss the 2012 Oregon Pinot Noirs!

“Hard to believe anyone can get very excited over 2011....but À chacun son goût as the French say...2012 is the real deal in Oregon....just saying.... “ -- Robert Parker The Wine Advocate
From what we have tasted so far we completely agree with Mr. Parker's assesment, the 2012's are amazing. While the official reviews from the Wine Advocate aren't due until October I wouldn't wait until the score come out, many wineries have sold out their entire 2012 Vintage already.

2012 Bergstrom Pinot Noir Silice....$59.99

Silice (pronounced “sea-lease”) is French for silica, the shiny, quartz rock found in the sandy, beach soils of the Chehalem Mountains AVA....The 2012 vintage represents the inaugural release of this wine under its new name, but between 2003 and 2011, you knew it as de Lancellotti. The vines are now 15 years old and expressing themselves in a tremendous way.
The 2012 Silice Pinot Noir is dark ruby with dark violet tints. Its explosive aromatics burst from the glass with high-toned red and purple flowers, bright raspberry, cherry and a comforting sweet, spicy profile reminiscent of fresh-baked berry pies. But for all its opulence, there is a stony mineral cut to this wine that keeps it honest and poignant, and it is this harmony between ripe lushness and sandstone minerality that makes the wine so delicious now. Our 2012 Silice will drink well upon release and should perform well in the bottle for the next 5-8 years.

2012 Bergstrom Pinot Noir Shea....$52.99
Bright ruby-red. Potent dark berry and cherry compote scents show excellent clarity, with smoky mineral, floral pastille and Asian spice notes adding lift. Stains the palate with sweet red and dark berry flavors that put on weight with air. Delivers a superb blend of power and vivacity, with chewy tannins coming on late to add shape to the long, sweet, vanilla-tinged finish. While this substantial pinot still has years of life ahead of it, it offers surprising up-front appeal as well.
Rated 94/100 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

The last 2 vintages scored 94 points from The Wine Advocate and the 2012 is a much better vintage.  Don't hesitate!
2012 Bergstrom Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch...$55.99
Our third vintage from one of our largest estate-farmed vineyards, the 2012 Gregory Ranch Pinot Noir captures the beauty and opulence of the 2012 vintage like lightning in a bottle.

The wine is dark cherry in color and has an outrageously opulent aromatic panoply of ripe dark fresh fruits like blackberries, marionberries and dark cherries commingled with sweet floral notes including vanilla, clove, cinnamon and star anise. This Pinot Noir has a full-bodied character but also shows great balance between fleshy, sweet tannins and wonderful acidity. This is a monumental Pinot Noir and quite different from the elegantly framed 2010 and 2011 wines from this vineyard. Our 2012 version is more full throttle and will be enjoyable young, but the brambly and floral notes that are the trademark for this vineyard shine through beautifully. DRINK NOW 2013-2020
