Goose Island Bourbon Coffee Stout!

Goose Island Night Stalker....$8.99 / 22oz bottle

First come first served at the Forsyth Store -- 1 bottle per person.

Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Stout....$17.99 -- 1 per person
SOLD OUT

The site crashed like when Founders CBS was posted.  I know it is frustrating, but everyone experienced the same thing, so it was still as fair as possible for those that got a bottle.  Because about twice as many people got through than bottles we have.

I had a number of people ask how the rare beers are sold here at The Wine and Cheese Place.  Tomorrow when it arrives, it will be "fastest finger".  I will post the wine is available here on the blog, also on twitter and facebook.  There will be a link to try to reserve it online.   Just getting an order in is no guarantee, you will need to wait for a confirmation which could take a few minutes.
It is important that you set up an account on our website - click here to set one up.
Because when I post the link, you will not have time to set up an account and be able to get the beer.  Also make sure you have the site up and already logged into the account.  It will only take about a minute to sell out.

Brewer's Notes:
Everyday Goose Island smells the wonderful coffee roasting next to our brewery at Chicago's Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea. This world class roaster puts the same passion and skill into their coffee as Goose Island does with its beer. This excellent stout is made with a different coffee from our friends next door each year. With the change in coffee comes a change in the flavor profile, making each release truly unique from the previous years.

Got my order in but didn't get a order received confirmation like I normally do. (Much less the actual reservation confirmation). I guess that means I didn't get one?

nevermind, confirmation came through. No reservation confirmation yet though. Just delete this and my previous message.

Thanks

This is the second or third time we have tried to reserve online with no luck, only this time we got our hopes up only to find our order had falsely gone through. Not very cool to get people excited about a reservation and then deny half of them the final product.

It is a frustrating process with so little to go around and so many people fighting for them as you can see with our site crashing for 45 minutes. That is the only the second time it has happened. I try to be honest and posted that just getting an order in is no guarantee, you have to confirm each order. According to the orders online, 50 orders came through from 9:01 to 9:03 and we only had 24 bottles to around. We have tried to be as fair as possible

I think you guys are getting way to much traffic to continue to do your limited releases this way. Why don't you do lists in the store, or just put it on the shelf with a limit?

We have tried all options. None are perfect. We have been mixing it up a bit just to give people different options. We did the Founders Bolt Cutter as in store pick up and the Goose Island Night Stalker (which we got less than the Coffee Stout)as in store pick up today. We have done lottery method. We like the online because it gives people option to pick up at any location. A lot of the time, only Forsyth gets an allocation of the beer. Each system has its problems. If it is pickup, only people that are not working are able to get it. When there are 500 people looking for 12 bottles of beer, most are going to be left out unfortunately.

As Paul said, there is no good way but I think online is fair. Everyone has the same opportunity and same problems to get it. If they just put it on the shelf, people would be getting in accidents to get to the store the fastest. Keep it up Paul! We appreciate it.

This way, only the internet crashed and got hurt :)

I agree that you guys are doing a great job and spreading it around as best as you can. I didn't try for the BCBS Coffee today, but with limited quantities, someone is always going to get left out. Keep up the great work!

I guess the only real concern with the online option is that folks from all over the country are getting the releases and not just the locals who frequent the store. This may not even be the case though. Maybe nobody is having them shipped and its all pick up orders anyways.
