Our next barrel of Buffalo Trace arrives...

We received our 3rd barrel of Buffalo Trace.

Plus barrel number 3 we split it into both 750ml and 1.75 liter bottles.

"Single Barrel Personally Selected by The Wine and Cheese Place"

We still have some of barrel number 2 left in stock also and this has created something very exciting.   Buffalo Trace uses 2 different mash bills for their bourbons.  The mash bill is basically the "grain recipe" the distillers use for their bourbon -- it is the grain types and the different proportions of each used.
According to the stamps on The Wine and Cheese Place  barrels --
Our Barrel No. 2 is Mash Bill #1
Our Barrel No. 3 is Mash Bill #2

What is so exciting about this? You get a chance to taste each mash bill separately.   Normally, the "regular" Buffalo Trace will be a blend of barrels from both mash bills.    From what I can find online about their 2 different mash bills is that the mash bill #2 has a higher rye content.  The Bourbons that Buffalo Trace uses Mash Bill #1 for are George T. Stagg, Old Charter,  Eagle Rare and more.   Mash Bill #2 is used for Elmer T. Lee, Hancocks, Blanton’s, and Rock Hill Farm plus more.

Pick up a bottle of each for your collection!
