2008 Venge Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve...$123.99
"An absolute joy and triumph. Just superb, showcasing the best of Oakville. Perfect tannins, as pure as velvet and sweet, and perfect oak, too, with beautifully applied char and wood spice. That the oak is 100% new is in keeping with the wine’s volumetrics. The wine’s flavors are a profound, heady expression of blackberries, blueberries, cassis and dark, barely sweetened chocolate. Just spectacular, a real achievement by any world class standard. Production was a scant 275 cases." —S.H."

2009 Venge Scouts Honor Proprietary Red....$34.99
"Yet another spectacular vintage in honor of our beloved winery dog, Scout. 2009 was a heavier yielding year as compared to its predecessor, 2008. The vintage was very intense and allowed for wines of wonderful concentration and stature in both the barrel and bottle. This vintage is an eclectic assemblage with light violets, crushed herbs, red cherry and licorice scents in the nose. The palate is driven with femininity from the Zin with loads of ripe red berry and cherry and enveloping masculinity of mineral, char and tannin flavors from the Syrah, Charbonno and Petite Sirah. This is a largely structured wine and not for the weak of heart nor imagination. With time this wine will certainly find itself developing wonderfully and finding even more harmony." - winery

2010 Venge Spettro Bianco...$24.99
"We started making our first white blend at the Rossini Ranch Winery—Venge’s former home. The wine was called “Bianco Spettro” and was a smash hit with our wine fans. When the Rossini Winery sold, we changed the name to “Champ des Fleurs” which translated means “field of flowers.” Many people still loved the wine but became tongue tied with the name. It soon became “the white blend.” We have often said that this wine benefits from the spectrum of the varietals that complete the blend, making a wine that is much more compelling than any of the varieties on their own. Spettro translated means spectrum and thus we found it appropri-ate in defining the wine perfectly. This year’s blend is a composition of 61% Yountmill Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, 31% Maldonado Vineyard Chardonnay, and 8% Baranek Vineyard Chenin Blanc. Crisp and refreshing with loads of meyer lemon, tart apple, grapefruit, a touch of minerality, and solid backbone. Devotees of dryer whites will appreciate this blend for what it is lacking—oak influence. Drink now, chilled over a bucket of ice." -- winery

2009 Venge Penny Lane Sangiovese....$32.99
"This stylish Sangiovese showcases a jammy, ripe red fruit style so endeared to this noble varietal. The nose opens with bing cherries, camphor and a dash of garden herbs. The palate has a depth and fullness to it that pushes ripeness in the direction of plum, black fruit with even a hint of cherry cough drop and barrel vanillin. This wine finds its support from fine acidity and well balanced tannins reminiscent of the prestigious Oakville Appellation terroir. Aged correctly, this wine will improve for 5 to 8 years or more." -- winery
