CAVAILLON MELON
The Cavaillon melon, also known as the Charentais melon, is a small, round, and highly aromatic cantaloupe that originates from the Provence region in France, specifically the town of Cavaillon. This melon is highly prized for its sweet, juicy orange flesh and fragrant aroma, distinguishing it from other cantaloupes. Its skin is typically pale green with darker green, well-defined vertical stripes, creating an appealing look.
Cavaillon melons are celebrated for their unique taste, often described as intensely sweet with a slightly floral hint. They are enjoyed fresh, used in salads, or paired with savory ingredients like prosciutto for a classic French appetizer. They have become a symbol of Provençal cuisine, and Cavaillon even hosts an annual melon festival celebrating this cherished fruit.
These melons are usually harvested between June and September, making them a summer delicacy. They require a warm, dry climate to develop their full sweetness, and traditional French methods ensure only the ripest melons are sold.

Rolling Fork Rum 6 Year Dominican Republic

Rolling Fork Rum 6 Year Dominican Republic...$53.99
Cask No. HHR-224035
113.6 proof

"HHR" in the cask number HHR-224035 does indeed refer to Heaven Hill Rye. Rolling Fork often finishes their imported rums in whiskey barrels from well-known American distilleries, including Heaven Hill, which adds a layer of complexity to the rum’s flavor profile. In this case, the rum was initially aged for six years in the Dominican Republic and then finished in a cask previously used for Heaven Hill Rye whiskey, contributing subtle spice and oak notes characteristic of rye whiskey.

Wine Tasting - Theodore Rex

2023 Theodore Rex Santa Barbara Chardonnay....$29.99
Only 5 barrels produced!
The wine is a combination of fruit from the Sierra Madre Vineyard in Santa Maria and the Peake Ranch Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. It all went through malolactic fermentation - with aging in all French barrels.
"Santa Barbara’s cool 2023 growing season produced exceptional Chardonnays. The wines are especially perfumed, with great fruit concentration. Rounded out by a kiss of French oak, the wine gains mid-palate weight before finishing crisp, once again showing it’s cool origins. This is a superb Chardonnay designed to enjoy with many different foods, but it’s really easy to drink by itself." - Adam Lee, winemaker

  • Whole Cluster Pressed
  • Aged in all French oak, 20% new
  • 100% Malolactic Fermentation
More info from the famous winemaker, Adam Lee
The premiere release of Theodore Rex Chardonnay comes the remarkable 2023 vintage – One of the greatest and coolest in recent California history. Grapes are picked from two outstanding vineyards – one in the cool, high-acid Sta. Rita hills and the other in (still cool) somewhat richer Santa Maria flatlands. The combination of these two areas – carefully blended – produces a chardonnay that balances lushness with backbone – new world with old.

What does Puntas mean?

In tequila making, puntas refers to the "heads" or the first portion of liquid collected during the distillation process. It is the initial cut of the distillate that comes off the still and is usually higher in alcohol content and impurities compared to the middle cut (or heart), which is what most tequila is made from.  The Puntas is what most tequila producers save for the family!

Here's a breakdown of the stages in the distillation process for tequila:

  1. Puntas (Heads): The first liquid that comes out during distillation, typically high in alcohol.   When done right, it can introduce interesting, intense, and complex flavors, though it’s still rare to find a commercial product that specifically highlights Puntas

  2. Corazón (Heart): The middle part of the distillate, which contains the best balance of alcohol and aromatic compounds. This is the part used to make tequila because it has the best flavors and aromas.

  3. Colas (Tails): The final portion of the distillate, containing more water and less alcohol.

Tequila Ocho Plata Puntas 2024 is a high-proof, overproof tequila that stands out for its bold flavors and artisanal craftsmanship. Made from agaves harvested from Rancho Mirandillas in Jalisco, the agaves used for this expression have an exceptionally high sugar content of 31%, contributing to the tequila's rich and intense character.

Bottled at a hefty 54% ABV (108 proof), the 2024 release has been praised for its complex aromas and flavors. On the nose, you can expect notes of agave, dried fruits, and salted chocolate. The palate reveals flavors of cacao spiciness, butterscotch, and a long, creamy finish. It's a bold, sippable tequila that also works well in high-proof cocktails due to its layered profile of sweetness, spiciness, and heat.

The release is limited to 21,000 bottles

Plus, remember our two single barrels of Tequila count as DOUBLE POINTS in this raffle!!

"I chose colors and flow that represent calm, quiet, and peacefulness, which I associate with the holiday season. It's a time where things slow down and I can take time to appreciate what's around me and who I spend it with. The color choice of the elk has a clear point of warmth to represent energy, family and togetherness. Additionally, even though there is only one animal subject in the design, I wanted to choose an animal that is not solitary in nature (elk live in larger herds) to represent the spirit of the holidays and being with loved ones."

Jeppson’s Malört is Chicago’s local beskbrännvin — a style of bitter, wormwood-based, Swedish schnapps. First developed during medieval times for its supposed medicinal benefits, it’s traditionally associated with the farms of Skåne, in Sweden, where wormwood grows wild. In the early 1900s, it was the most ubiquitous drink in Sweden and accompanied the nearly 1 million Swedes who immigrated to the U.S. during that period. One of those immigrants was a man from Ystad, Skåne named Carl Jeppson.
During Prohibition, Mr. Jeppson was into the business of producing legal “medicinal alcohol,” and sold his brand of besk bar-to-bar. After repeal, Malört was a staple of every Swedish bar on Clark St and by that time he had sold his recipe to Bielzoff Products Co., a Chicago distillery. George Brode, Bielzoff owner, helped push Jeppson’s Malört beyond its Swedish origins by introducing it to Chicago’s Polish population, who in turn introduced it to the rest of Chicago.
Through the decades, Jeppson’s Malört has been thought of as a rite of passage and even a purported hangover cure. But we think it is more than that — Jeppson’s Malört is a drink that has helped define the Chicago bar experience. So, join us for a shot, or a cocktail! As George Brode used to say- “You may not like the first, but after the second shot, you’ll be ours forever!” Skål!

Mount Gay Eclipse Navy Strength Rum

Mount Gay Eclipse Navy Strength Rum...$26.99 / 700ml
Eclipse Navy Strength
Explore a new depth of flavor with Eclipse Navy Strength, a new limited edition created by Master Blender Trudiann Branker. For this release she took inspiration from the long historical connection between Mount Gay and sailing, creating a high strength Eclipse blend bottled at 57.1% ABV.

Navy Strength History
Navy Strength rum is a historical term dating back to the years when boats would carry large quantities of rum. In the days of cannonball battles, wet gunpowder that would not light would be a death sentence in battle. However, sailors realized if the rum was high enough strength and spilled, the gunpowder would still light and be used, and so this was what was carried on ships, and the term has remained. The historic Navy Strength used in the US was 57.1% abv, and that is the reference Trudiann chose for her Eclipse Navy Strength blend.

Adam Lee, winemaker
Robert Parker, one of the most influential voices in wine criticism, held a strong admiration for Adam Lee's work at Siduri Wines. Parker’s advocacy helped Siduri's wines, especially their Pinot Noir, gain significant recognition. One standout moment was early in Siduri’s history when Parker rated one of Lee’s Pinot Noirs as among the top ten produced in California—a powerful endorsement that set Siduri on a path to prominence. Parker consistently praised Siduri for its dedication to varietal purity and quality across different regions, with Lee's approach capturing the essence of terroir from Oregon down to Santa Barbara.

In addition to quality, Lee's progressive move to screw caps on all Siduri wines by 2011 earned him further respect from Parker. Lee was ahead of his time in combating cork taint—a decision that Parker, a long-time critic of cork issues, found refreshing and innovative. This shift, along with Lee’s precision in Pinot Noir, reinforced his reputation as one of California’s leading Pinot Noir specialists
