Aligote

The other white grape of Burgundy : Aligote
Most White Burgundy is made from Chardonnay, but there is one more grape allowed and that is Aligote. Aligote is fresh and citrusy. Pairs nicely with grilled fish and seafood. Perfect with a wide assortment of salads and great which fresh goat cheese.
Some new vintages and some new wines just arrived!!!

2022 Comte de Langeron Bourgogne Aligote...$24.99
White golden color with noticeable green tints. The nose is fresh with aromas of green apples and lemons. On the palate, the wine is bright and very crisp, discreet yet satisfyingly supple with subtle aromas that linger This wine is an excellent accompaniment to slightly spicy or salty dishes, or even fatty foods, as flavours tend to be softened by the fresh acidity of the wine. Excellent with meat, fried foods, charcuterie, seafood and goat's milk cheeses.
Laurent vinfies his Aligoté the same way as his Chardonnays as he believes it has the potential to make great wines with complexity and longevity. Lower yields and older vines!

2022 Comte de Langeron Coteaux Bourguignons Blanc...$25.99
90% Chardonnay
10% Aligote

Great white Burgundy at a great price!
A blend of Chardonnay and Aligoté of which most is matured in stainless steel. It has a great Burgundy nose with a touch of minerality that comes from the Aligote. Great flavors of tart apples and a steely acidity finishes off this great wine. Highly recommended and very limited production
Nice pale robe, the nose is discreet yet intense with hints of white flower and honey. The wine expresses minerality and length on the palate with a nice balance of acidity on the finish.
This wine is a free blend of the two main white varietals of Burgundy: Chardonnay and Aligoté. The berries are sourced from different parts of the Burgundy region characterized by a large variety of different soils. Both grapes are vinified separately and blended before bottling, which gives them more control on the typicity of this wine. This is a great aperitif wine but it also pairs well with pasta, cured meats, pork, chicken, rich fish like salmon and tuna as well as soft, mild cheeses.

2020 George Lignier Bourgogne Aligote....$22.99
The domaine’s fresh, textbook Aligoté comes from vines in Morey-Saint-Denis: 70% from a 60-year-old planting in the lieu-dit Les Aires, and 30% from four tiny plots nearby. Vinified and aged in stainless steel on its fine lees for just shy of a year, it shows a satisfying old-vines plumpness beneath its clean, bright acidity and marked floral elements.
