Limited beers....

People always wonder how these allocated beers sell out so fast....

Due to do the amazing technology like Google Analytics, I see  there are over 100 people on our blog now (I assume waiting for the KBS release).
That is more people than bottles of KBS we are getting.  That his how the beer sells out in less than a minute.

Still no KBS delivery yet....

And that's why fastest finger is a horrible way to release beer.....

I'm just waiting for the Bud Light Cran-Brrr-Rita reservation link.

Oh yeah and a line around a building is so much better

Paul, let me start with saying you guys do a great job. That being said, I support TWCP because you are locally owned and do a nice job of promoting a wide range of craft breweries. My only issue is not supporting your local customers more when it comes to Uber rare releases such as these. I don't know how many non-St Louis customers tend to order these limited allocations, but the more you can do to ensure you give your locals first crack would be great!

I'm right down the road from TWCP, and I support this method better than a waiting list or on the shelf only.

Horrible is a strong word. Everyone has the same chance to get in. That is what makes it fair. If it was come to the store, people cannot get out of work, people that live far away have a disadvantage.
Equal playing field. Maybe a little luck involved if your order gets in first. But I think fair. Any way their is still the same number of bottles available, same number of people trying to get them. This way we do not have everybody racing to the store only to get here after it sells out. How frustrating can that be for people.

Very few if any seem to make it out of town, when something sells out super fast, out of town people are not watching as close.

TWCP is local and a great memeber of the beer community. But they have customers all over the country they try to support- it could be you or I one day if we moved. Online is better than camping out or rushing to the store when it arrives.

I need a web cam set up outside of TWCP to see when the delivery truck arrives...

You can camp at another store and still order from our store :)
Double your chances :)

Everyone does not have an equal chance. That's not even close to accurate, even from a tech standpoint, not even considering some people work and have responsibilities that preclude them from doing f5 all day.

A lottery is the ONLY WAY these things are even close to fair, but as you've said, it's too much work for you guys because sometimes people don't pickup their bottles.... And apparently charging for a ticket is illegal or something.

Cant be too illeagal if three floyds does it for a chance to by dark lord

Doing a lottery on all these allocated beers is just not possible. The amount of time spent is just too much. It is really impossible.

Paul you do an amazing job sir and a lot of us can't thank you enough! A lot of people expect this beer to be available for them even though its limited. Chill out. Either get to know others in the community and they will help you, or you get try it at bar, or you can just chill out. Its beer.

Heard. TWCP is the best! Happy hunting everyone.

Paul - You guys do a great job of bringing amazing beer to STL. Fortunately, there is an abundance of great beer. Don't sweat missing out on any one release. There will be another one soon!

I love Paul. He allows me to buy beer.

I think I have the solution we can all agree on put all the beers in the center of your parking lot ... Rope it off. Every one pays $10 and we fight to the death for the beer experience.

Paul, thanks for all you and your staff do. Now if you could get that new Schlafly Bee® in.

Oh crap, I'm going to have to pay a royalty for just posting aren't I?

This is a cruel April Fools Day joke, Paul!

Keep up the good work Paul. The downside to working retail is that you'll always have to deal with annoying, whining, pain in the ass customers.

Beer people who talk about making friends to taste beers are full of it.

Beer people who complain about releases are lame.

I hope all of your internets fail at go time!

Paul,
How will Deschutes Mirror Mirror be allocated?

Anonymous said...

Another smooth, well run fastest finger...

So there are still a bunch of bourbon barrel aged beers out there that are way easier to get. Maybe Paul can give some recos for what is most like KBS for those of us that missed-out on it.
