90 Point Blanc de Blancs from Thevenet

NV Thevenet Blanc de Balncs....$23.99
Thevenet's Champagne look-alike, the N.V. Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay Brut is a delicious, frothy, light-bodied, ripe, super-clean, and expressive, dry Chardonnay. It possesses an attractive honeyed note for added richness, but the overall impression is one of gorgeously fresh, light, effervescent Chardonnay presented in a light-bodied, delicate format. Drink it over the next several years. Thevenet is one of the bright shining stars of the Maconnais, producing wines of much higher quality than readers might expect can be achieved in this vast ocean of vineyards just north of Lyon.

2004 Bertrand Delespierre Millesime Premier Cru Brut...$59.99
"The 2004 Brut Vintage impresses for its sheer energy, power and focus. Mint, flowers, pear and hazelnuts are just some of aromas and flavors that inform the vibrant finish. This is a classy effort from start to finish. The 2004 Brut is equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged June 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016." - Rated 91/100 The Wine Advocate

"A broad-shouldered Champagne, open-knit and accessible, with flavors of pastry, glazed apple and pear, honey, candied lemon zest and vanilla. Ends with a juicy, lightly smoky finish. Drink now through 2016. –AN" - Rated 91/100 The Wine Spectator

Delamotte - from the famous Champagne House of Salon

Owned be the famous Champagne producer Salon!!
2004 Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil...$99.99
Delamotte's 2004 Blanc de Blancs has shut down quite a bit over the last six months. The flavors are bright, chiseled and finely-cut, as they have always been, in a gorgeous expression of Chardonnay. Lemon peel, white flowers, green pears and crushed rocks shine on the precise, crystalline finish.

Limerick Lane Zinfandel - limited

2013 Limerick Lane Russian River Zinfandel...$35.99
The 2013 Zinfandel from the Russian River is another sexy wine, and one of their largest production cuvées of just under 2,000 cases. It finished at 14.6% alcohol and shows plenty of classic Mediterranean roasted herbs, pepper, spice and full-bodied blackberry and cherry fruit. It’s a classic Zinfandel, very pure, impressively crafted and should drink nicely for up to a decade.

Limerick Lane is now owned by the Bilbro family that has made Marietta Cellars such a successful wine producer. They took this once famous, then down-on-its-luck property, purchased it, and are now producing some incredible wines from the 30 acres of relatively old-vine Zinfandel, Syrah and Rhône grape blends in what is considered a relatively cool area. Starting with the much-maligned 2011 harvest, Jake and Scot Bilbro have already built a loyal following for these intense, but incredibly pure and interesting wines. When I saw them in late August, they had already finished about 75% of the 2015 harvest, the earliest by a long shot in their long family history. In any event, here are some very impressive wines, all pretty realistically priced for what’s in the bottle.

If you haven’t caught on to the magic that is emerging from Limerick Lane, it’s about time.

2004 Recaredo Reserva Particular Brut Gran Reserva

2004 Recaredo Reserva Particular Brut Gran Reserva...$107.99
The 2004 Brut de Brut Gran Reserva Brut Nature is a blend of 67% Macabeu and 33% Xarello from three vineyards on calcareous soils (Can Romeu, Can Rossell and Pedra Blanca). The first fermentation is done in oak casks and was bottled in spring 2005, remaining for 79 months on its lees before disgorgement on December 15, 2011. It offers a very precise bouquet that unfurls in the glass to reveal tantalizing hints of white truffle and a touch of rosemary. The palate is very precise and beautifully balanced with subtle white peach and quince notes, this Cava struck through with razor-sharp acidity that leads to the wild honey-tinged finish. There is a sense of completeness to this outstanding Cava that is well worth the price when you consider the price of Champagne. Drink now-2016+

Very limited Macallan

Macallan Reflexion...$1199.99 / 750ml
The 2015 debuts of Reflexion and No. 6  will likely mark the completion of the series. The naturally colored and flavored spirits will also represent perhaps the darkest and most concentrated sherry-aged whiskies in the Macallan’s history. “As you move through the 1824 series,” says Ken Grier, director of malts at the Macallan’s parent company, the Edrington Group, “each expression becomes increasingly dark and more complex, reflecting the careful selection of exceptional casks.”
For Reflexion, the Macallan’s master whisky maker, Bob Dalgarno, primarily selected whiskies matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned oak. A high proportion of those whiskies were aged in smaller hogshead casks, a process that intensifies color and flavor because the relatively larger surface area of wood interacts more with the distillate. A small percentage of American oak–aged whiskies combined with the sherry-aged spirits to create a final product with strong floral and citrus notes intertwined with fresh apple, raisin, and apricot flavors. - Robb Report

Ardbeg Supernova SN2015 Comittee Release...$143.99
Ardbeg Supernova is one of the peatiest whiskies on Earth. Yet it is also intensely spicy and unfathomably sweet. Truly a mystery of the universe.

This final, fleeting Committee bottling of Ardbeg Supernova heralds the culmination of Ardbeg’s experiment in space. Its release coincides with the publication of Dr Bill Lumsden’s highly anticipated White Paper on the mysteries of zero gravity maturation.
TASTING NOTES
A big bang of peat… then heavenly sweet… with a lingering trail of smoke.
Colour: Shimmering pale gold
Nose: A shower of peppery, aromatic herbs shoots through the air, scattering particles of effervescent perfume. In its wake, smoked fruits, briny seaweed and fennel. The sensation comes full circle with the earthy, grounding aroma of vetiver root. Add a few drops of water and luscious linseed oil comes to the surface, sending wafts of sweet smoked toffee, brazil nuts and soot into the atmosphere.
Taste: At 100ppm, the peat is firing on all cylinders, with blasts of spice, salted caramel and billowing smoke. And then it’s back to the laboratory, where antiseptic lozenges, medicinal notes and zingy aniseed intermingle with dark tar and intense chilli-spice.
Finish: Prepare for a long, lingering, peppery aftertaste that goes on and on and on…

Pappy Van Winkle is impossible to get...
Check out his quote from Julian Van Winkle (yes, of Pappy Van Winkle)

You Don't Need Pappy. Really. Even Pappy Says So.
Julian Van Winkle, maker of Pappy Van Winkle, offers alternatives to his cultishly popular hooch. "My first pick? That'd be seven-year-old W.L. Weller. It's very close to ours, sweet and a lot of caramel. If you can't get that, try Maker's 46. It's a little more interesting, with that extra French-oak aging that they use. Third would be Four Roses, the single-barrel. And if that's not available, then I'm gonna go drink vodka." - GC Magazine article

Dad always spoke his mind, and kept no secrets in life or when it came to making his iconic whiskey. This batch has rich flavors of vanilla that Booker’s Bourbon is known for, along with a hint of cherry and a warm mouthfeel that opens to a long, smooth finish.
I selected this batch at this year’s New York WhiskyFest with the help of the Booker’s Bourbon Roundtable, an exclusive group of top whiskey experts, enthusiasts and writers, who helped me identify a batch that honors dad’s whiskey preference. The group had a tough job, but selected this batch with an overwhelming vote, calling it “a mega bourbo

Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 2015

2015 Schlafly Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout...$10.99
Our Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is complex and strong, with rich chocolate and roasty flavors. The beer is brewed to have big malt flavor and hop bitterness to balance the sweetness of the high alcohol content. After primary fermentation and conditioning, the beer is transferred to freshly-emptied bourbon barrels and aged for several months before being carbonated and bottled.
In the 18th Century, Imperial Stout was first brewed in London for export to the court of Catherine II of Russia. The beer had to have a higher alcohol content to prevent freezing during transport. The process of aging beer in liquor barrels, however, is new; there is no tradition for this process, as beer and liquor production have traditionally been kept separate. We hand-select bourbon barrels from a micro-distillery in Bardstown, KY and transport the barrels immediately to St. Louis to ensure the barrels do not dry out before being filled with Imperial Stout.

Barrel #F2034
French Oak Barrel
It is aged in a 56 liter barrel and yielded only 60 bottles!!

Masterson's / TWCP Single Barrel 100% Rye...$59.99
Masterson’s is a 100% rye whiskey that far exceeds industry standards for rye whiskey. Our artisans incorporate only the most fragrant and plump grains of rye and pure glacial water from the northern Rockies into a meticulous distillation process that utilizes an old-fashioned pot still.
Gambler, buffalo hunter, army scout, gunfighter and newspaperman, William “Bat” Masterson did it all and did it well. And what better way to honor such a rarefied man than with a truly exceptional whiskey. Crafted by artisans, distilled in a pot still and aged in white-oak casks for just over 10 years,
it’s the kind of drink that Bat would’ve surely raved about.

Duplessis Chablis 1er Cru

2013 Duplessis Chablis Premier Cru Montmains 1er Cru...$32.99
The 2013 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains, which lies on the border with Fôret, has an understated but very precise bouquet with flint and light green apple scents. There is an airy intensity to this Montmains. The palate is crisp and fresh with a keen line of acidity, precise and persistent in the mouth. There is also plenty of salinity toward the finish, completing what is an excellent Montmains, especially within the context of the vintage.

Bower Hill Reserve Rye

Bower Hill Reserve Rye....$39.99
Bower Hill Bourbon commemorates the "Battle of Bower Hill" which was the first bloodshed of the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794.  The Mingo Creek militiamen numbering nearly six hundred surrounded federal tax inspector General Jon Neville's fortified home, Bower Hill.  The battle took the lives of two rebel leaders, Oliver Miller and Major James McFarlane, a veteran of the Revolutionary war, as well as a few U.S. Solders defending the Bower Hill home.  Upon completion of the two day batle, the home was razed by fire.

    Ballast Point Commodore Amercian Stout...$10.99 / 6pk
The Commodore came out of our search for a medium-bodied American Stout. The recipe began at our R&D pilot brewery, but quickly became a favorite of our crew. Strong flavors of roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate balance with light citrusy hop aromas, highlighted by a crisp, bitter finish. One sip of this gold medal-winning stout will have you ready to take command of your own fleet.

    Ballast Point Sculpin IPA....$13.99 / 6pk
A trophy beer that’s a testament to our homebrew roots.
Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate stages would produce something special. The result ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a Sculpin fish.

    Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin IPA....$13.99 / 6pk
Our award-winning IPA, with a citrus twist.
Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

    Ballast Point Habenero Sculpin IPA....$13.99 / 6pk
Our popular IPA, with a punch of heat.
Our Sculpin IPA with Habanero Pepper began as a crazy experiment that’s taken on a life of its own. While its bright fruit notes and hoppy bite has made the original one of our favorites, this version takes that balance of flavors to the next level with the citrusy, floral heat of habaneros. Sculpin are known to sting, but this one’s got a kick.

    Ballast Point Grunion Ale....$10.99 / 6pk
A new Pale Ale where hops run the show.
Our Grunion Pale Ale wasn’t born on a beach, but in a backyard. Originating from an employee-only home brew contest, this award-winning hoppy pale ale is named after the tiny local fish known for late night frolics on shore. A pair of new hop varieties lend strong yet balanced summer melon aromas and herbal flavors, while a soft caramel malt sweetness holds it all together.

    Ballast Point Victory at Sea...$13.99 / 6pk
IMPERIAL PORTER WITH COFFEE AND VANILLA
A big porter crafted to weather any storm.
Our Victory at Sea Imperial Porter is a bold, smooth brew with just the right amount of sweetness. We infused this robust porter with vanilla and San Diego’s own Caffe Calabria coffee beans. The subtle roasted notes and minimal acidity of the cold brewed coffee, balances perfectly with the sweet caramel undertones of the malt, creating a winning combination for your palate.
