New to the shop! One of the New Breed of Lowland distilleries, Lochlea already has a fantastic pedigree for being open for a short time. I’ll be pouring four of their expressions this Saturday for your tasting enjoyment.
The Lochlea distillery in the Scottish Lowlands has been producing Single Malt Whisky since 2018. The team grows their own grain for the Lochlea products on approximately 90 hectares. They are particularly proud of the estate's history, which the Scottish national poet Robert Burns called home from 1777 to 1784 and also lent a hand on the farm. The distillery manager from 2021-2024 was none other than former Laphroaig director John Campbell.
Lochlea Our Barley Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky….$59.99 / 700 ml

Our award winning core single malt expression, Our Barley is made from and inspired by our barley, grown here on Lochlea Farm. Production Director John Campbell carefully honed this recipe using his years of experience, using a combination of first-fill Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry and STR casks.

Production Director John Campbell selected a combination of Oloroso Sherry, STR and PX casks from our warehouse that work particularly well at higher strength, amplifying our signature fruit, nut, and cereal flavors. This whisky opens with apples, peach syrup, and marmalade. The finish is long and continues with more fruit and a hint of black pepper.

Our import partner, ImpEx Beverages have selected 3 casks which were married together to create a truly unique Lochlea expression. This whisky was first filled into Refill Bourbon Barrels, then double matured in American Oak STR Casks. This limited edition is a beautiful snapshot in time in the progressive journey of Lochlea.

Lochlea Sowing Edition 3rd Crop Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky….$64.99 / 700ml
No Age Statement 46% abv
Matured in 100% fresh 1st-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, these casks are 9 months older than those used in Sowing Edition (Second Crop), and the difference is incredible!
This whisky really highlights the floral aromatics associated with distilling in the colder months.
