Hard Truth Distilling Co. has partnered with Mellencamp Whiskey Co. — founded by Hud Mellencamp and Levi Collison — to release a limited series of collectible sweet mash whiskeys in support and celebration of America’s heartland farmers.
This is the second release in a series of four whiskeys, with each bottle featuring original artwork by John Mellencamp and a previously unreleased Sweet Mash Whiskey. This expression brings together a unique combination of Hard Truth’s Chocolate Malt Rye and Sweet Mash Bourbon rested on toasted Amburana wood.
Created to celebrate Indiana’s small, independent, and heritage farmers, this whiskey uses primarily Indiana grains, and a portion of sales from each bottle will go to support Indiana’s sustainable farming initiatives and local farming families via Grounded in Truth, Hard Truth’s cause platform.
Grounded in Truth supports agriculturally focused not-for-profit organizations — like Farm Aid, its first giving partner — that provide valuable resources and support for family farmers.

This special batch of bottled-in-bond bourbon is made from 100% Indiana grains, aged for 4 years in a prescriptive char and toast combination designed by Independent Stave Co. exclusively for our Sweet Mash Bourbons, and is the first bottled-in-bond collaboration between Hard Truth and Mellencamp Whiskey Co.

French Oak Harvest Rye is the third release in a limited, four-part, collectible series from Hard Truth Distilling Co. and Mellencamp Whiskey Company. The unique mash bill was first featured in the original Harvest Rye (fall 2023) and is composed of 100% Indiana-grown rye and corn. This expression rested in new, charred French Oak barrels, and offers additional dimension to that first release. The French Oak shifts the flavor dynamic, leaning into and highlighting fruit-forward notes within the whiskey.
