We’ve been big fans of Compass Box since their arrival in Missouri over 15 years ago. Jon Glaser, master whiskey maker (left Compass box in May of 2024) and crew continue to come up with ingenious expressions, both blended and blended Malt whiskeys. Friday, the (In)famous Bar is featuring the 2025 editions of the Hedonism and Flaming Heart expressions, along with the new additions to the Compass Box portfolio.

Compass Box Crimson Casks...$62.99 / 750ml

The pinnacle of our collection, Crimson Casks delivers on the rich promise of sherry and red wine casks with intense chocolate, plum jam and redcurrant character.

Powerful, rich whiskies matured in American Oak sherry butts, precisely seasoned for a very particular wood interaction that creates a spiciness and generous intensity from the oloroso influence.Chocolate fudge cake undercut with clove and cardamom, with hints of plum jam and redcurrant jelly, then rich cherry, toffee and oak, finished with raisin, honey and brown sugar.

Part artistry, part alchemy, Nectarosity generously brings you honeyed fruit and toasted oak notes, straight from our Blending Room.Special American oak barrels are deployed twice. First to impart sweet spice to grain spirit, which finishes maturing in other casks. Once 'prepared', the barrels age malt whisky. We expertly blend these two characterful whiskies with selected others to dial up the fruit and toffee notes.

To toast 25 years of Compass Box, we present a remastered version that focuses on flames and oak. Whereas previous editions have featured a proportion of unpeated whiskies aged in bourbon or sherry casks, this eighth installment is a selection of only peated whiskies and those extra matured in customer French oak barrels. Malt whiskies from Benrinnes, Laphroaig, "Williamson”, and Talisker.

Changing the landscape of Scotch whisky from first release, Hedonism 2025 takes on greater power and velvet at 46% ABV. Featuring single grain from the Cameronbridge and Girvan distilleries, further matured for two years in a first-fill Marsala barrique.

Age Statement Bottled at 46% ABV

We have used a special parcel of whisky made at the Loch Lomond Distillery from peated malted barley, distilled in their copper Coffey still. Despite this being 100% malted barley, the use of a column rather than a pot still during distillation means this cannot be classified as a single malt – it is the perfect spirit around which to build a unique blended grain Scotch whisky.

The majority of Experimental Grain Whisky is composed of grains from the Cameronbridge and North British distilleries. They bring notes of fudge, vanilla and honey. On top of this the younger whisky from Loch Lomond layers impressions of pine forests and patchouli oil.
