John Chester Ross & Sons KC Whiskey is named for founder Shane Veritasi’s grandfather who “drove a taxi” for political boss Tom Pendergast in Kansas City during prohibition. He famously “never took a fare but made a lot of stops.” Johnny Dean Ross, named after John Chester’s son, has a nose of butterscotch, hazelnut, caramel, toasted oak, clove and cinnamon. A smooth palate with dominant oak, and a bit of spice on the pleasant finish.
