Levet Cote Rotie!!

We do not get a lot of these each year!
Grab some while they are here!!!

2020 Levet Cote Rotie...$94.99
Moving to the 2020s, which were still in barrel, the estate commented that this was an early vintage, and the wines are slightly less concentrated due to well-timed rains. The 2020 Côte Rôtie Amethyste showed beautifully, with an exuberant, perfumed bouquet of violets, cracked pepper, spring flowers, and raspberries. This medium-bodied, elegant, incredibly satisfying Côte Rôtie would be a great introduction for readers looking to understand the style of this terrific estate.

2020 Levet Cote Rotie La Chavaroche...$112.99
Labeled La Peroline in markets outside the United States, the 2020 Cote Rotie La Chavaroche (a barrel sample, from the lieu-dit of the same name) is another terrific wine from this tiny estate. It's a bit more complex and herbal-stemmy than the other bottlings, but it's also floral and tea-scented, with baskets of purple raspberries on the nose as well. Medium to full-bodied, it's the silkiest, most complete of the three cuvées at this address, while still boasting ample concentration and length and plenty of ripe tannins. Give it at least another 5 years in a cool cellar.

2020 Levet Cote Rotie Les Journaries...$99.99
Again a prospective sample blended from several barrels, the 2020 Cote Rotie Les Journaries (labeled Maestria outside the United States) is a blend of fruit from La Landonne and Côte Brune. It's full-bodied, rich and tannic, even chewy, with plenty of concentration, yet it's also fresh and fruit-driven, with vibrant notes of purple raspberries and exotic spices. This should be terrific; it just needs a good 5+ years.
