Single Vineyard Cabernet from Helen Keplinger

Check out this cult Cabernet that does not have a cult Cab price tag! 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the esteemed Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard in Oakville. It is made by Helen Keplinger, who had a short stint at Bryant Family before launching her own winery based on Rhone varietals. Keplinger has crafted her own style after being mentored by some of the greats like Heidi Peterson Barrett, Michel Rolland, and David Abreu. She was named Winemaker of the Year by Food & Wine Magazine and has made the cover of Wine Spectator.

2017 Carte Blanche Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer MO Hopper...$149.99

Even better, the 100% varietal 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a deep purple color as well as full-bodied aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, unsmoked tobacco, chocolate, and earth. This ripe, sexy, opulent beauty has sweet tannins, a great mid-palate, and a great, great finish. It competes with wines 2-3 times the price.
Rated 96/100 Jeb Dunnuck
Full-bodied with a deep, layered palate. Lots of dark fruit with blackberry and currant character and chewy, polished tannins. Very attractive and juicy now, but three or four years of bottle age will make it even better. Try after 2023.
Rated 97/100 James Suckling
