2020 Daou Patrimony

Very limited!

2020 Daou Patrimony Cabernet Sauvignon...$269.99
The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is cut from the same cloth as the 2019, yet is perhaps richer and more expansive, with slightly less elegance. Currants, chocolate, toasted spices, and tobacco all define this beauty, and it has full-bodied richness, flawlessly integrated oak, good acidity, and a great finish. Anyone doubting the quality that can be achieved in Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles owes it to themselves to try one of these wines.

The 2020 Patrimony Cabernet Sauvignon, made entirely with free-run juice, will be in 100% new French oak barrels for 30 months. It has an opaque ruby-black color and youthfully gregarious aromas of cassis, blueberries, pencil shavings, thyme and mushroom. The full-bodied palate strikes a balance between concentrated fruit and a supple, fresh frame, and it finishes with alluring herbal tones.

2020 Daou Patrimony Caves des Lions...$269.99
The 2020 Caves Des Lions comes from vines around the winemaker's house and is a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc brought up in new oak. Its inky hue is followed by a great nose of chocolatey dark fruits, espresso, Asian spices, tobacco, and earth. Full-bodied on the palate, it has notable purity of fruit and a great finish, with plenty of tannins.
Rated 94-96/100 Jeb Dunnuck
The 2020 Caves des Lions is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc made from free-run juice and will be matured in 100% new French oak for 22 months. Opaque ruby-purple, it has savory aromas of mushroom, pipe tobacco, charcuterie, woodsmoke and fried thyme with a core of cassis. The full-bodied palate is gently chewy with rounded acidity and a youthfully coiled, savory finish. It's a touch rustic at this stage.
Rated 94-96/100 The Wine Advocate
