Rieslingfreak 2022 Rieslings

New 2022s arriving!
2022 Rieslingfreak No.12 Riesling....$27.99
Flaxman & Eden Valley
You've got to have a bit of the masochist in you to drink Eden Valley Riesling in the same year it was made, such is the tension of acidity in the mouth. It's thrilling, and I don't say that lightly. The fruit for this 2022 No. 12 comes from a vineyard in Flaxman's Valley, up in Eden, and it is a tightly coiled, wound up and mineral. There is an austere kind of flesh to the bones here; in Riesling terms, you'd be remiss to use any other word than "powerful." This is sensational: muscly, lean and lithe. 2021 and 2022 were a fine pair of vintages to have side by side, and if it's possible, I think the inherent power in this 2022 iteration places it slightly ahead of the floral, graceful 2021.
Rated 96/100 The Wine Advocate
A very complex and expressive Eden Valley dry riesling with a very wide spectrum of aromas from lime to orange blossom and sushi ginger. Stunning depth and vitality on the super-focused palate. Incredible wet stone intensity at the limey finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

2022 Rieslingfreak Riesling Clare Valley Eden Valley No. 10...$31.99
The 2022 No. 10 is a regional blend of 59% Clare Valley and 41% Eden Valley. The wine captures the essence of both areas: the flesh and enveloping nature of the Clare Valley and the crushed rock austerity and distinct floweriness of the Eden. In some senses, it lacks the definition that some of the other cuvées possess, due to its sourcing, but what it misses there, it picks up in density, line, length and form. This is a savory, lingering and powerful Riesling, one for the ages. The lemony acidity lingers in the mouth in a Warheads way; it will live an age if you choose to cellar it.
Rated 95+/100 The Wine Advocate
Made for the long-term, this remarkable 2022 dry riesling has citrus aromas that range from lime to pomelo plus green mango and touches of flint and parsley. For the cool vintage this has a very impressive ripeness and a seriously racy finish that lights up the sky. A cuvee of 59% Clare Valley and 41% Eden Valley wines. Drink or hold.
