Thanksgiving! Plan your wine now!

Thanksgiving Wines
Thursday, November 25th
Thanksgiving is one of the best wine Holidays, with so many flavors and dishes on the table you can really drink whatever you like and it's bound to go perfectly with something on the table. There is no perfect Thanksgiving wine, because really the perfect Thanksgiving wine is the one you want to drink the most. If you like a big Cabernet or a big rich Chardonnay - drink those! If you do not like Pinot Noir, you will still not like it with Thanksgiving.
Drink what you like! We have come up with a few suggestions from our 4 locations to help guide you.

We have selected some of our Favorite wines for your table!!

From our staff at our Lamp and Lantern Location!
2020 Commanderie De La Bargemone.....$21.99
My favorite Rose’ of the year, this wine is the perfect aperitif, but also has enough backbone and acidity to enjoy with appetizers and salads.  Offers a fresh, floral and fruity nose with top notes of red berries, orange rind, grapefruit and lemon zest.

2018 Julien Schaal Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru Gewürztraminer - $34.99
Our Thanksgiving table is loaded with a broad range of flavors: sweet, spice, salt and savory are all there. This Grand Cru from Alsace, France is up to the task of pairing with everything beautifully. Bright and fresh, boosted by a gentle sweetness with a bitter phenolic edge. A masterful display of harmonious flavor.

2019 Colene Clemens Dopp Creek Pinot Noir - $25.98
For me, Pinot Noir is the most versatile red varietal. Good fruit, balanced acidity and low tannins make Pinot Noir the perfect food wine. This gem from Oregon’s Colene Clemens is medium bodied, elegant and transparent

2019 Comte De Langeron Cotes du Rhone Linteau - $16.99
Southern Rhone is invited to our Thanksgiving feast every year. Another versatile red that pairs with the variety of foods found on Thanksgiving and other holidays. Concentrated and supple, it’s round and expansive on the palate with good fruit and subtle tannins.

From our staff at our Kirkwood Location!
2019 Chateau Les Clauzots White Bordeaux - $25.99
60% Sauvignon Blanc 35% Semillon 5% Sauvignon Gris
A wonderful white for a variety of dishes. The Sauvignon Blanc gives great acidity, while the Semillon gives some heft. Bright, cheerful, well expressed white pear and peach fruit that has clear density, balanced out by sappy acidities, bright aromatics and good persistency. 90/100 Decanter Magazine

2020 Horgelus Rose - $13.99

35% Merlot 35% Tannat 30% Cabernet Sauvignon - A unique blend that is certainly a crowd pleaser! This Rose has an intense and complex bouquet of sweet strawberries, juicy blackcurrants and ends with a thirst-quenching and dry finish.

2019 Stratum Pinot Noir - $14.99
A crazy good Pinot Noir from New Zealand.  Lifted red fruit, raspberry, cherry and plum with an engaging spicy note. This will be excellent for dishes on the earthier side, like duck or mushroom dishes.

2019 Les Darons Red - $16.99
This is perhaps one of the most versatile reds in the set. Grenache-based with just enough of everything, with spice, bright fruit, and medium acidity. It is unoaked, so it will be good for someone that likes red wine, but is not used to dominating tannin.

2017 Lewelling Cabernet Napa - $54.98 ON SALE
Whether you are serving turkey or steak for your holiday meal, some people will only want a Cabernet, and that is okay! This wine is drinking great right now. Jeb Dunnuck called this wine a "big winner of the vintage", and we agree!

From our staff at our New Ballas Location
2019 Comte de Langeron Bouzeron- $24.99
Burgundy’s oft-forgotten white varietal. Perfect alternative to a Chardonnay. Aromas of fresh peaches, white flowers and green apples. On the palate, it is well balanced and creamy. The wine is very pure with great focus and a nice streak of acidity running through it. Great crisp White Burgundy.

2018 Ramilo Tinto Colheita- $13.99
Looking for a unique old-world red for the holiday? This Portuguese red blends Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Castelão. These little-known grapes provide plenty of fresh and floral notes. Roasted, smoked, or fried, this wine will pair with the turkey of your choice.

2020 Chateau Lancyre Rose Languedoc- $19.99
Dry rose is now a staple for Thanksgiving! This rose is built for year-round drinking. A big rose that offers raspberry and pear on the nose and a firm clean finish. Whether having a glass with appetizers or dinner, this wine will impress.

From our staff at our Forsyth Location!
2018 E. Traber Alsace Gewuztraminer...$19.99
All the grapes are harvested by hand, to preserve all the aromatic richness, purity and freshness of the grape variety. This Gewurztraminer expresses the typicity of the grape variety. Gewurztraminer is the most aromatic of Alsace wines. With its aromas of rose, lychee and spices, and covers the palate. Soft, it goes well full-bodied cheeses and all the Thanksgiving sides!. Perfect Thanksgiving wine!

NV Joel Falmet Brut Rose -  $49.99
This Rose from Joel Falmet is just lovely. Bright acidity and fresh flavors of wild strawberry come together to make this one very “gulpable” Rose Champagne. Great as an aperitif and wonderful match with Oysters and Shrimp Cocktail.

2019 Domaine De La Combe Muscadet Sevre et Maine - $18.99
Made from 100% Melon de Bougogne and aged Sur Lie this Muscadet has a beam of bright acidity that adds a bit of backbone to this lightly fruited white. Perfect to get the evening going as an aperitif style wine.

2018 Domaine Duplessis Chablis -- $34.99
Chablis is always my choice for a Thanksgiving Chardonnay. All of the wines from Duplessis are farmed biodynamically and posses a purity of flavor that makes for a wonderful match with all of the flavors on your holiday table
90/100 James Suckling

2019 Belle Glos Pinot Noir Pinot Noir Las Alturas - $39.99
There is no need to re-invent the wheel with this wine pairing. Pinot Noir pairs wonderfully with Turkey and this stunning offering from Belle Glos will please everyone at the table. Big fruit and bright acidity make this a perfect bottle to carry you through the whole dinner. -- 96/100 The Wine Enthusiast

Las Jaras Glou Glou Red...$23.99
Carbonic macerated Zin and Carignan gives this wine plenty of juicy fruitiness and Carignan brings the balancing acidity and a touch of spice. That fruit is a lot like cranberry sauce to counterbalance the richness of the meal on the table. "Glou Glou” is the sound in French of wine pouring out of the bottle, and that gluggable drinkability is the best part of a great Thanksgiving. You might want more than one.
