2017 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas Clos Derriere Vieille...$49.99
While the other 2017s include 30% to 40% whole clusters, the cooler, later-picked 2017 Gigondas Clos Derriere Vieille includes 60% whole clusters. Rose petal, pomegranate and cherry notes abound, carried on a full-bodied but silky palate that's fine and elegant but concentrated and intense, with plenty of length on the finish.
Rated 93-95/100 The Wine Advocate
Pure and racy in feel, this lets lively damson plum, red currant and raspberry fruit play out against a backdrop of lacy minerality and light savory and tea notes. Reveals a subtle singed alder thread on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2030. 800 cases made, 50 cases imported.

2017 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas Les Hautes Garrigues...$64.99
A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre, the 2017 Gigondas Les Hautes Garrigues is less aromatic than it was last year, folding in darker notes of black cherries and chocolate. Yet it's still wonderfully full and textured, with a plush, velvety feel and a long finish. It seems to grow in aroma and flavor the longer it's in the glass, always a good sign.
Rated 95-97/100 The Wine Advocate
Gently mulled loganberry, plum and black currant fruit flavors form the core, with dark tea, tobacco and alder notes filling in on the finish and echoing nicely. Best from 2020 through 2030. 888 cases made, 100 cases imported. — JM

2017 Domaine Santa Duc Chateauneuf du Pape Les Saintes Vierges...$64.99
Another fine, elegant example of the appellation, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Saintes Vierges is mostly Grenache, with the balance Mourvèdre and a tiny splash of Counoise. Scents of roses, lavender and purple raspberries give this wine immediate charm, and while it's full-bodied, it's also silky and pure, with an almost airy feel on the palate and terrific length.
Rated 94-96/100 The Wine Advocate
Intense, with steeped red currant, plum and raspberry fruit forming the core, backed by red licorice and rooibos tea accents. A vibrant mineral streak runs through the fresh finish. Best from 2020 through 2035. 400 cases made, 50 cases imported. — JM

2017 Domaine Santa Duc Chateauneuf du Pape La Crau Ouest...$121.99
Tasted from amphora, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape La Crau Ouest boasts a wonderful aroma that's a hybrid between cherries, purple raspberries and cassis. Full-bodied and rich, it nevertheless shares the same silky texture and almost airy feel that's become the house signature, finishing with incredible length. These 85-year-old Grenache vines on sandy soils often turn out the most compelling wine in the cellar.
Rated 95-97/100 The Wine Advocate
Fresh and pure in feel, with a tightly focused, racy beam of red currant, damson plum and cherry coulis flavors, laced with a floral note and carried by well-embedded acidity through a lengthy finish. An understated style, but very precise. Best from 2020 through 2035. 176 cases made, 24 cases imported. — JM

2017 Domaine Santa Duc Chateauneuf du Pape Le Pied de Baud...$64.99
The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Le Pied de Baud blends Grenache with about 15% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault. It's a bit earthier and darker fruited than the other 2017s here, plush and round in the mouth. Full-bodied yet silky, fine and elegant, it should drink well on release and for 15 years after that.
Rated 95-97/100 The Wine Advocate
Ripe and fresh, with a racy edge to the mix of red currant, raspberry and damson plum coulis flavors, all supported by bright acidity and supple, fine-grained tannins, backed by floral mineral and rooibos tea notes on the mouthwatering finish. Best from 2020 through 2035. 366 cases made, 19 cases imported. — JM

2017 Domaine Santa Duc  Chateauneuf du Pape Habemus Papam...$49.99
Roses, mint and raspberries give the full-bodied 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Habemus Papam a deceptively light, airy feel. Silky tannins reinforce that sensation, finishing with hints of black tea and a soft dusting of Asian five spice powder. It's a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah that should drink well for a decade or more.
Rated 94-96/100 The Wine Advocate
Features a pure beam of raspberry and red currant coulis racing through, flecked with rooibos tea, mineral, lavender and violet notes. A mineral edge gives this a mouthwatering thread through the fruit. Best from 2021 through 2035. 400 cases made, 200 cases imported. — JM
