Best Value in Sauvignon Blanc!

Brand new 2019 Vintage!
Fresh and lively!

2019 Stratum Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc...$12.99
Boasting attractive herbal notes of snow peas and cut grass layered over nectarine-like fruit, the 2019 Stratum Sauvignon Blanc is a medium-bodied, slightly chalky-textured example of the variety. Moderately concentrated, it appears to have the stuffing to hold in bottle for a couple of years. At the recommended retail price of $13, it's a terrific bargain.
Rated 88/100 The Wine Advocate

Stratum Sauvignon Blanc is made by Jill and Dayne Sherwood and comes off their Waipara vineyard, adjacent to the winery. It is thus grown, produced and bottled by them. Waipara is cooler than Marlborough and allows them to use more skin contact, which broadens the middle palate of their SB thus creating more harmonious mouthfeel.

Aromas of gooseberry, fresh herbs and fresh cut grass with slight asparagus notes. A refreshing wine with fruit flavours of crab apple, quince and white peach. Hints of passionfruit lend a slightly sweet fruit note while vegetal aspects of artichoke give the wine a complex and interesting flavour profile. A medium-bodied wine with light acidity and a fine grained texture.
