Carpineto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva

A Superstar from Tuscany's most overlooked and oldest DOCG, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Situated in the Southern end of Tuscany near the town of Sienna Montepulciano produces some of Italy's most profound Sangiovese, but thankfully sell for a song compared to their more famous counterparts from Chianti and Bolgheri.

2013 Carpineto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva....$24.99
The stunning bouquet of ripe black cherry, black currant, leather and woodsy spice notes is enticing, while the sweet fruit is a match for the dense structure. The lengthy finish lingers, with tobacco, eucalyptus and iron accents. Drink now through 2030
Rated 95/100 The Wine Spectator
(#11 on the 2018 Top 100 Wines of the Year)
