2015 Bosquet de Papes - big scores

2015 Bosquet des Pape Chateauneuf du Pape
Chante Le Merle...$62.99 / 750ml
Chante Le Merle...$129.99 / Magnum
(only 1 left)

The final blend of the captivating 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Chante le Merle Vieilles Vignes is 86% Grenache, with the balance equally split between Syrah and Mourv├Ędre. Delicate cherry and sandalwood perfumes rise from the glass, while the mid-palate delivers a full-bodied experience that seems almost weightless. The finish is long and silky, featuring a reprise of cherries and spice. It's just a lovely, elegant wine.

2015 Bosquet des Pape Chateauneuf du Pape A la Gloire de Mon Gran Pere...$62.99
Bosquet des Papes was successful across the board in 2015, as all of the four wines stood out in my blind tastings. My favorite (by a nose) was the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape A la Gloire de Mon Grandpere, which is 98% Grenache. On top of its lovely floral and cherry aromas, the mid-palate boasts incredible lushness and suppleness, then adds in complex spice elements. It's long, silky and only the slightest bit warm on the finish. It should make it to 2030, but there's no real need to wait.
