Fall 2015 Allocation

Pappy Van Winkle includes 10yr, 12yr 13yr, 15yr, 20yr and 23yr plus the Antique Collection which includes George T. Stagg, Sazerac Rye 18 Year-Old, William Larue Weller, Thomas H. Handy, and Eagle Rare 17 Year-Old

Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon
and
Buffalo Trace Antique Collection

This release we are going to do a raffle for chance to purchase  a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle or the Antique Collection. We feel this is the fairest way as demand is off the charts.  This is how we have done it the past few years.

We feel this is fair to everyone trying to get a bottle of this liquid gold.   Feel free to call or email us with questions.  We appreciate your business and respect our customers enthusiasm in trying to get these rare bottles.   We are not limiting the number of people that can enter.  That way if you are out of town, or cannot race to the store right now, you will not be left out.  You have just as much chance if you sign up on the last day as you do on the first day.  Thanks again.  Any questions or comments do not hesitate.

Two ways to get raffle tickets

  1. Everyone can get one FREE entry in the lottery.  You must come to one of our four stores to sign up for your free raffle ticket.  We want to make sure we give people that shop in our stores the best chance.
  2. But we want to also reward all of our regulars that come in the store each week to get Bourbon.  So you can get extra entries in the lottery and increase your chances.  For each bottle of Bourbon you purchase from the list below you get another raffle ticket for the lottery.   No limit.

  3. We feel this is the fairest way as it allows everyone to enter, but rewards loyal regulars. It is these loyal regulars that help us get our allocation of Pappy Van Winkle and the Antique Collection.

You must purchase bourbon from this Whiskey list below (any size or year, excluding 50ml bottles).  You can purchase the bourbons at any of our four locations or online.

We know some of these are not in stock at all times.  But if they are here, they count towards the lottery.  Here is the list
  • 1792 Barrel Select
  • Blantons
  • Bowman's
  • Buffalo Trace
  • E H Taylor Jr (all types)
  • Eagle Rare
  • Elmer T Lee
  • Hancock's
  • W.L. Weller Special Reserve and Antique
  • Old Charter 8 year Old

More information:
  • To get the FREE entry, you must enter in person at one of our four locations.  No phone or email sign ups.  Only one free sign up per person.  Please do not try to sign up free at all of our locations.  If you have multiple free entries, we will disregard your entries.
  • Must 21 years of age to enter.
  • You can enter as many times as you like when you purchase bottles, 1 entry for each bottle purchased from the Sazerac list above.
  • If your name is drawn, you can purchase 1 bottle from the Pappy or Antique Collection list.  If your name is drawn a second time, we will disregard and draw another name.
  • You do not need to be present at the raffle.  You will be contacted via email/phone.
  • You must pick up at the location you signed up.
  • You will have 7 days to pick up from date of the drawing or it will go out for sale
  • Raffle will be for Pappy Van Winkle 10yr, 12yr, 13yr, 15yr, 20yr and 23yr plus the Antique Collection which includes George T. Stagg, Sazerac Rye 18 Year-Old, William Larue Weller, Thomas H. Handy, and Eagle Rare 17 Year-Old
  • If your name is drawn, you will be randomly selected a bottle from the above list.
  • We do not know the exact release date or how much we are getting.  We will announce the drawing date as soon as we know.

Paul,
The "Order Now" button for the Pappy Raffle goes to a list of bourbons and other whiskies that are not all Buffalo Trace brands. This includes several versions of Jefferson's bourbon, Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, George Dickel 9 Year, and even Crown Royal Hand Selected Barrel Canadian Whisky. Is this an error? Or are you opening this up to include purchases of these non-Buffalo Trace brands?

Yes, I am adding a few more off an on because the Buffalo Trace brands are so hard to get now and we do not have a lot in stock.

Hey Paul
Thank you for all the info and the transparency that TWCP has. I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into organizing special releases. I have one question. If we bought any of the bottle from above durning 2015 and have a receipt, is it possible to have that count for another ticket? I know you have prob been asked and I know you talked about a new POS system. So can you reward the guys who have bought those through the year and keep track? I know Lukas was only releasing 200 tickets and I could of had four because of events that I went to through the year. I thought about it and decided to let the bourbon guys who spend money with them get the tickets. I think 99% of all my 2015 purchases have been at TWCP. I think I got in a pinch and had to buy a bottle from Starr. Anyway thanks for any info.

We appreciate very much your support. Yes, we have a new POS coming soon. In fact we have our first training tomorrow on the upgraded system which will give us many more options. I cannot at this point included sales before the start of the raffle, it just would not be fair to many others who also purchased before the time frame that we started for this year's raffle.

Understand. Thanks Paul

I purchased bottles to enter the raffle but did not receive confirmation of actually being entered in the raffle. Should a receive an actual ticket? How can I confirm that I have been entered?

Paul Hayden said...

If you purchased in the store, you would have signed up for the raffle at that time. There are no tickets. If you purchases online, you should have ordered "Pappy Van Winkle Raffle" when you ordered your bourbon and you will be entered.

I ordered a qualifying bourbon but are you saying I needed to enter the text "Pappy Van Winkle Raffle" somewhere when ordering?

Paul Hayden said...

Yes, there is a Pappy Van Winkle raffle link so we know you are interested in the raffle. email me your name or order number and I will take care of it...

So just to clarify,
If someone wins, the bourbon type is picked for them by TWCP staff?
Is there any choice for winners?

Paul Hayden said...

We will just start with the with the 10 Year old, and draw the same number of names we have of the 10 Year old, then move onto the next year and draw a name for each bottle we have, and so on until we have gone through all the expressions.

Any Idea when the raffle will be held this year?

Paul Hayden said...

We are hoping November 1st, provided the product arrives in time. I will update when we know more.

Paul,

As a weekly TWCP customer,
I noticed that the list of qualifying bourbons in the store is different from what qualifies online.

If I purchase one of the whiskeys that qualifies online from a store in person, will the clerk let me get a raffle ticket, or do I have to purchase online?

Thanks.

Paul Hayden said...

Because everything is selling out and not available , I just added more to the list , you do not need to order online

Has the raffle taken place yet?

Paul Hayden said...

No, not yet. We are still waiting on the Antique Collection to arrive. Hopefully very soon.

I wonder what is taking your allocation so long to arrive.

The Antique collection all changed ABV, so in Missouri they had to re-register all of them. The MO registration site has been back logged for the past 4 months and it is taking an insane amount of time for the registrations to get done. Any label change has to be re-submitted to the state.
