Mezcal with a Scorpion in the bottle!

Yes, that is the Scorpion in the bottle!

Mezcal with a SCORPION in each bottle!

Scorpion Silver Mezcal....$34.99
Gold Medal / 94 points, BTI.
Silver Medal, SF World Spirits Competition.
(100% Agave)

Appearance: Clear as molten glass in the bottle- it is a beautiful thing. On swirling, it leaves a very light coating on the glass which belies its viscosity. Sitting in the glass it looks like a small puddle of sap or nectar. Quite a striking contrast to most clear spirits such as vodka.

First Impression: A dry bouquet, hints of lime, citrus, cucumber salt, and savory herbs, and on more warming: char, creosote, some spiciness, and a faint trace of balsam.

Taste: Dry and sweet at the same time somehow, lime, citrus, leather and dry smoke, almost a tannic. Light and spritely on the tongue mouth feel, whispers down the throat and then leaves a rather delicate warming considering the 80 proof with a smoky spicy aftertaste. Like a mesquite campfire, this is amazingly complex. Spirits Review

This award-winning Scorpion Silver Mezcal is artisan-made in small batches in Oaxaca, Mexico, with a real scorpion in every bottle. This version is freshly distilled and bottled without aging. The distinctive bottle comes with it's own little Scorpion Mezcal® sombrero.

This smooth mezcal is rested in oak barrels for between 2 and 11 months.
Excellent for sipping.

Appearance: Oak amber color in the bottle. If it was maple syrup it would be a medium amber - It is a beautiful thing! On swirling, it leaves a very light coating on the glass which belies its viscosity. Sitting in the glass it looks like a small puddle of sap or nectar.

First Impression: Smoky and more understated and delicate than the Scorpion Silver. Dry, with a bouquet of lime, citrus, and cucumber - salt, and savory herbs, and on more warming: char, creosote, some spiciness. The oak aging even at only 6 months shines through.

Taste: Dry and sweet at the same time somehow, with citrus, leather, dry smoke and lime, hints of cardamon, nutmeg. It is resinous on the tongue and mouth feel, whispers down the throat and then leaves a rather delicate warming considering the 80 proof. It has a smokey, spicy aftertaste like a mesquite campfire. This is amazingly complex stuff- very smooth and too easy-to-drink. Spirits Review

What you will experience is a fresh, nimble, nicely balanced spirit with a hint of melon flavor. FWM

Appearance: Dark amber color in the bottle. If it was maple syrup, it would be a medium amber. It is a beautiful thing! On swirling, it leaves a very light coating on the glass which belies its viscosity. Sitting in the glass, it looks like a small puddle of sap or nectar.

First Impression: Very smoky and more understated than the others. Smells like a tin of just opened sobranie tobacco, with strong Phenol and smoke.

Taste: Dry and sweet at the same time somehow, with lime, leather, oil, and smoke, and a suggestion of mint. Resinous on the tongue, and mouth feel. It whispers down the throat, and then leaves a rather delicate burn considering the 80 proof, with a smoky spicy aftertaste like a really good tobacco and spicy notes. Spirits Review
