Evesham Wood - a store favorite!

Founded by Russ Raney (of St. Louis) in 1986, Evesham Wood is based on the idea that small is beautiful. To maintain a high level of quality, we rely on two basic principles: obtaining optimally ripe low-yield fruit from the best possible sites in the Willamette Valley, and using minimal intervention in the winemaking process. That approach is alive and well today, and is evident in every bottle we produce.

Evesham Wood Pinot Noir a Willamette Valley Institution
Evesham Wood Pinot Noir has been a long time store favorite, we can hardly keep the Willamette Valley bottling on the shelf. We have just received a small allocation of their 2017 Cuvee J and Les Puits Sec Pinot Noir, these are as good as it gets.

2018 Evesham Wood Willamette Valley Pinot Noir...$20.99
Even in a Pinot portfolio packed with value, this may top them all. Pinpoint balance spotlights spicy berry fruit, ripe and well-managed tannins, and surprising length. The herbal highlights are properly constrained, and the finish suggests that it could even age further for up to five years

2017 Evesham Wood Les Puits Sec Pinot Noir....$37.99
Bright scarlet color. Musky red and blue fruits, pungent flowers and a hint of succulent herbs on the perfumed nose. Bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors show appealing sweetness and building floral and spice topnotes. Finishes impressively long and floral, with a lingering cherry note and smooth tannins that sneak in late.

One of the most sought after domestic Pinot Noirs
One of the greatest characteristics Russ finds in our proprietary yeast that he “isolated” from a bottle of 1986 Jayer Echezeaux (hence the name Cuvee "J") is the velvety texture it imparts on the wines.

2017 Evesham Wood Cuvee J Pinot Noir...$49.99
Brilliant ruby. Highly perfumed aromas of ripe red and dark fruits, incense and potpourri, along with an exotic spice nuance and a touch of smoky minerality. Palate-staining black raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors show sharp delineation and deepen steadily as the wine stretches out. Smoothly plays richness off elegance and finishes impressively long and appealingly sweet, with sneaky, even tannins lending shape and grip.
