Prunier Cognacs

Prunier Cognac V.S....$34.99
Amongst the different grades of cognac the VS quality is the youngest which can be sold after a minimum of 30 months in oak casks. For ageing the House of Prunier uses casks of 400 litres coming exclusively from the Limousin district and which are on average 6 to 8 years old.  Prunier VS expresses the freshness, the delicacy and the fruit of the different areas of the region. It is an excellent base for mixtures and is adapted to cocktail aromas.

Prunier Cognac VSOP....$43.99
Colour: Pale gold, shiny
Nose: At the beginning the nose seems almost ‘hidden’ then gradually there is an impression of extreme smoothness with tea aromas.
Mouth:the mouth is full of fruit ( mango) with a final smooth touch. “Easy” to drink this cognac combines the qualities of an after dinner drink and a cocktail base.

Prunier 20 Year Old Cognac...$89.99
During the XIXth century and uptil the 30s, vintages were an important part of the cognac trade. It is still possible to find old vintages coming from the House of Prunier in certain auction sales. In 1986 we decided to renew with this tradition and as we had cognacs which had been aged in cellars controlled by the Excise Authorities, we were able to prove the age of these cognacs.  So 20 year old is a revival from the past respecting the old traditions. Aged in damp cellars we let the cognac reduce naturally their alcoholic strength. When you leave nature to do its work you are always rewarded.

Prunier Cognac Family Reserve XO...$79.99
This blend dates from the 50s and my grandfather was particularly interested by the domination of the fruit flavours over the woody flavours. We blend, consequently, mostly cognacs which have been distilled with the ‘lies’. It is a cognac which has a lot of personality and pleases new comers to the cognac world as well as the experts thanks to the balance and the subtleties. The delicacy and distinction of this cognac overcome the strength.

Prunier Cognac XO....$163.99
This includes Cognac from the 1930s and 40s
Created by Jean Burnez, grandfather of the current President, in the early 1930s, the blend went by the name of ‘Patriarche’, befitting its character as a personal selection by the senior member of the family. While the base of very old cognacs aged in damp, cool cellars has remained unchanged over generations, each successive Master Blender has brought his personal touch to the final product with a small number of additional eaux-de-vie, while respecting the natural, rich and complex character of this great cognac. Jean’s son Claude developed a somewhat heavier style with a greater degree of wood, while Claude’s son and current master blender Stéphane prefers a slightly lighter, more modern style of cognac, with a little less oak, reflecting his wish to taste the eaux-de-vie rather than the barrels in which they have aged. Throughout these current and future evolutions, the Très Vieille Grande Champagne will remain one of the signature blends of Maison Prunier, a truly old and magnificent example of what the Cognac region’s premier cru is capable

Kilkerran 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch

Kilkerran 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch....$66.99
Nose: oak notes are dominant, followed by toasted marshmallows and dried fruit pudding, as well as cherries, marzipan and a hint of peat

Palate: initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch,
honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed

Finish: velvet and smooth with lemon meringue, to conclude, there’s an oiliness and a saltiness that you’d expect from a Campbeltown dram

Glen Grant 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch

Glen Grant 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch...$39.99
With a bright, golden colour and pleasant aromas of orchard fruit, almond and citrus, this exceptional whisky delights the palate with exquisite and delicate notes of apple pie crust and caramel, and finishes with lingering fruit and subtle hints of spice.

Perennial Owen -- arrives soon
Owen is a table strength saison kettle and dry-hopped with Mosaic, and package conditioned with Brettanomyces Claussenii. It opens with aromas of ripe papaya and subtle pineapple. The tropical character continues on the palate with complementary notes of rose petals and mineral water. High attenuation and a lean base of Pilsner malt and torrified wheat combine to create an incredibly dry beer with a snappy finish. Serve as an aperitif or try with ceviche. 4.7%
Owen is named after the middle Wymore child.
Owen is the first beer in our three part Brett series - new to our 2017 lineup!

Perennial Glitter and Gold - coming back soon
Glitter & Gold is a Midwest biere de miel brewed with Missouri honey, a good grip of spelt and flaked oats.  Soft and billowy, yet intensely floral.  Drink with the ones you love.

New Vermouth from Piedmont

Berto Vermouth Ross da Travaj (Red Vermouth)...$13.99 liter
Berto Vermouth Aperitiv dia Traddission (White Vermouth)....$13.99 / liter
Founded in 1890, the distillery of Castelnuovo Don Bosco was purchased in 1906 by Carlo Quaglia, the great grandfather of the current distillery director. The Bèrto red vermouth (Ross da Travaj) and white vermouth (Aperitiv dla Traddission) are standard-bearers of traditionally and artisanally produced sweet vermouth from Piedmont. The recipe dates back to the 1930s and was resurrected by the Italian chef Federico Ricatto. His vision was to create Piemontese Vermouth that could stand on its own as an aperitivo or digestivo. Bèrto is the nickname for Alberto, Federico’s nephew, who was born around the time he was recreating the recipe. Federico recommends consuming their vermouth in wide glasses or in a tumbler with ice and an orange peel.

Luxardo Bitter Bianco

New
Luxardo Bitter Bianco...$21.99

Colour: ivory
Aroma: fruity with a prevalence of sweet and bitter oranges balanced by hints of spices and botanicals.
Taste: round and smooth with citrus notes gently bitter and persistent.

Gran Classico Bitter

back in stock
Tempus Fugit Gran Classico Bitter...$34.99

28% (56 proof)
A bitter apéritif liqueur created following the "Italian Bitter of Turin" recipe dating from the 1860s. It was originally produced in Turin, Italy under the name Torino Gran Classico; the recipe had been purchased in 1925 by the small Swiss distillery E. Luginbühl and a version has been produced for mostly local consumption ever since. Gran Classico was developed by reverting back to the original recipe; it is made from a maceration of a mixture of 25 aromatic herbs and roots including wormwood, gentian, bitter orange peel, rhubarb, and hyssop. The maceration also creates a naturally attractive, golden-amber color, and no additional coloring is added. Gran Classico Bitter stands alone on ice or with seltzer water, but has amazing range as a modifier for many recipes and spirits. It has offered the cocktailian culture a more complex, non-red alternative Bitter ingredient for the world-famous 'Negroni'.

Tasting notes: Natural golden-amber color. Aroma presents a multi-faceted bitter-sweetness of orange peel, gentian root and wormwood mingled with rhubarb and vanilla. The viscosity immediately highlights the sweet rhubarb, then the bitter gentian root and orange peel blend with wormwood, vanilla and resiny notes. Deep, layered and lingering finish that balances and alternates between the sweet and bitter.

Paul Pacult's review: Tawny color, with lots of floating debris. Aroma comes out swinging in grand herbal/root style, with special focus on rhubarb; aeration stimulates more of the orange peel and yet there is an alluring rooty/gentian bittersweetness that's immensely appealing. Entry is all about the rhubarb upfront, then in midpalet the gentian dominates before the orange peel comes rushing back in the finish as well as a piny/resiny quality that makes the aftertaste smashingly delicious. Campari drinkers take note: the ultimate expression of Bitter.

TEKTŌN V.6
We are craftspeople dedicated to exhibiting the qualities of one of the most flavorful beverages in the world. What we attempt to create and construct are flavor experiences that are balanced, intoxicating, and special. While our single origin offerings exhibit qualities that are delicious and complete by themselves, blending can create something unique that none of our coffees offer by themselves. We are inspired by French wine and cocktails like the Sazerac. By adding a small amount of five quality ingredients (sugar, bitters, lemon, absinthe, ice), a serving of perfectly good whiskey becomes a different, yet delicious, taste experience than that offered by any neat whiskey.

We are excited to offer Tektōn as a compliment to our single origin offerings. It matches the integrity of those offerings by remaining a seasonal coffee with a transparent supply chain. We embrace the future insight and taste experiences Tektōn will provide.

The sixth version blends two new coffees for us at Blueprint. 60% of the blend is made up of one the best Brazil’s we’ve tasted in years. It is from Fazenda Gauriroba, owned by Homer Aguiar Paiva. The lot we are using is naturally processed Yellow Catucai variety. The remaining 40% of the blend is a fresh arrival from La Trampa, Nicaragua. It is a washed-process Catarra lot.

New Biodynamic - Bordeaux

Chateau Le Puy
We have just received 2 cuvees from this historic estate, Emilien and Barthelemy and I must say the wines of Chateau Le Puy are two of the most compelling bottles of Bordeaux I have tasted in a long time. Château Le Puy is a remarkable property that has been in the Amoreau family since 1610, the vineyards are on the same limestone plateau as neighboring regions Saint-Emilion and Pomerol and sit on the second highest point in the Gironde at 110 meters above sea level. Jean-Pierre, Françoise and Pascal Amoreau are the 15th generation, and farm biodynamically (certified by Demeter). These 2 Cuvees are made Naturally without the addition of sulphur , no new oak is used and they are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Barthelemy and Emilien are truly expressions of historic Le Puy Estate and over 400 years of winemaking history.

2012 Chateau Le Puy Emilien Bordeaux ....$45.99
"An attractive bold garnet red colour.  The aromas open with very fresh dominant red berries.  It will surprise you with its strong opening in the mouth, with heaps of freshness.  The final notes are particularly well balanced with supple tannins, revealing remarkable complexity.  This is an extremely harmonious and delicious wine that is sure to delight." - Winery

2010 Chateau Le Puy Barthelemy Bordeaux....$171.99The fruit of a plot of vines known as ‘Les Rocs’ and the wines are matured in oak barrels for 24 months, with our technical interventions optimised with reference to the lunar calendar and with no added sulphur dioxide or other chemical products. They are then bottled without filtration.  The robe is a deep, enticing purple, while the nose boasts a rich array of aromas which seem to evoke a basket of perfectly ripe grapes. The palate is luxurious and complex, balancing great depth of flavour with a silky lightness of touch. The finish is seductive with a hint of mystery, inviting you to plunge further into this entrancing enigma.  Above all, Barthélemy is an emotional experience." -- Winery

Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Collab with SURLY BREWING
Ginger Lager
Together, we're brewing a lager infused with hot ginger and touch of cayenne (which emphasizes the ginger heat)  before fermenting on a blend of oak honeycombs and hops.  This may seem like an odd concept--and let's be honest, it is an odd concept--but the finished beer more than makes up for the seemingly strange combination of flavors.   The ginger is bright and crisp, the cayenne falls just below the heat threshold, and the oak adds a delicate roundness to the finish.  This ultra-crisp lager is very balanced and incredibly drinkable and will be on of the sleeper hits of the Beer Camp pack.

Changes in the store are coming along nicely.
By Friday - we should have about 70-80 new Bourbons in stock.
30-40 new Bitters/Amaros/Fernets/Vermouths in stock
20 plus Mezcals in stock by Friday too

4 Hands Passion Fruit Prussia

4 Hands Passion Fruit Prussia....$9.99 / 4pk 12oz cans

The name Prussia originates from Frederick the Great. Frederick was trained to brew this very delicate style of beer and later became the King of Prussia. Our interpretation of the Berliner Weisse style is very traditional. *New Release with Passion Fruit

Stone Mocha Double IPA

Stone Mocha Double IPA....$15.99 / 6pk

Double IPA wiht Cacao and Coffee
Clearly, style lines have been crossed. Is it half-IPA, half-stout? Not quite. It’s definitely all IPA, but it’s also the best of both styles, making this love child of a beer simply just a beautiful, pleasure-seeking meld of imperial IPA and mocha indulgence. How did we come up with this inexplicably delicious creation? Well, that doesn’t really matter. What matters is that it exists and that it’s here for you now, thanks to our deliberate disregard for brewing norms. Some things are not meant to be known, just enjoyed...thoroughly.

A fermenting beer never slumbers. Consequently, there is always scattered activity tending our precious beers throughout the dark hours. In these late nights and wee hours that hallowed responsibility falls to the shoulders of the overnight Brew Crew. These brewing soloists brave the long nights, often alone, to do what needs to be done. Most areas of the brewery are dark or in shadows. Throughout the night the cellars resonate with the occasional knocking of expanding and contracting pipes. It can be a bit spooky to hear the brewery creak and groan as if possessed by a spirit randomly knocking about with a mallet. This IPA, liberally hopped with Loral, honors our intrepid overnight team by naming it after their mischievous poltergeist companion – the Ghost Hammer.

Firestone Walker Luponic Distortion Revolution 006

On sale now!
Firestone Walker Luponic Distortion Revolution 006...$7.99 / 6pk
Now in rotation: Revolution No. 006, the latest release in Firestone Walker’s Luponic Distortion revolving hop series, featuring yet another trailblazing blend of distinctive hops.

True to form, Luponic Distortion Revolution No. 006 is driven by a mix of seven different hop varieties, led by two hops grown in the up-and-coming region of Michigan.

Northwest meets Midwest
Luponic Distortion Revolution No. 006 is the first-ever West Coast production beer to focus on hops grown in the Great Lakes State.
“This beer showcases what happens when you take two familiar Northwest hop varieties and grow them 2,000 miles to the east,” says Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “The typical piney, dank attributes of these hops are transformed into something much brighter, with a racy citrus quality that adds yet another new layer to the lore of Luponic Distortion.”

The journey of this beer dates back several years, when Matt befriended Nunzino Pizza, founder of Michigan’s Hop Head Farms. They met through mutual Midwest connections, and later toured numerous German hop farms together in 2013. “These guys are really committed to the German style of cultivation and kilning,” he says. “Their hops have been on my radar for several years now, and I’ve just been waiting for the chance.”
