Great Champagne of Pol Roger

The great Champagnes of Pol Roger:
We work very hard to source the most compelling wines in their category, often buying wines long before the wine critics have sung their praises. Over the Holidays last year we had an opportunity to bring in a selection of Champagnes from Pol Roger, and the latest issue of The Wine Advocate has confirmed our suspicions (and tastings) that these wines are phenomenal. All wines are in stock.

“My tastes are simple, I am easily satisfied with the best”- Sir Winston Churchill

NV Pol Roger Brut Reserve...$37.99
he mousse is deliciously fine and leads this charming and perfectly balanced fizz to a long, aromatic, stunningly dry and slightly mineral, impressively long finish. This is extremely well done Champagne from equal parts of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay sourced in 30 different crus.
Rated 92/100 The Wine Advocate

2006 Pol Roger Brut Rose...$116.99
This extraordinary Rosé Champagne is produced only in limited quantities and has been aged seven years before its release. Medium to full-bodied, smooth and fruit intense on the palate, this is another highly elegant and perfectly balanced Pol Roger fizz with a beautiful Pinot perfume in the finish. This is very sensual though complex Champagne that covers your tongue with pink silk. If you don't mind, I'd prefer to call this an excitingly erotic Champagne that I would love to drink on its own, but in any case not alone.

2008 Pol Roger Blanc de Blanc...$127.99
this extraordinary Blanc de Blanc Brut tastes drier than the Réserve Brut, but reveals a perfect ripeness of yellow fruits. The finish is lovely aromatic and intense, but also clear, fresh, firm and absolutely stimulating. This is a great Blanc de Blancs from the Grand Cru villages of Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize and Oger.

Winston Churchill
2002 Pol Roger Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill...$269.99

With its gold color and mature, toasty flavors, this is possibly the greatest Winston Churchill ever. It has weight and richness, with a dense, full and rich texture. It’s in perfect balance, bringing together maturity and crisper apple and green plum fruit flavors that are cut with lemon. A mineral edge gives a nervy character that will allow this magnificent wine to age further.

Rated 97/100 James Suckling
Rated 95/100 The Wine Spectator
