PREVIOUS Vintage review - 95 points
The 2011 scored 95 points from Robert Parker - here is what he had to say.
The star at Domaine Cabirau is the 2011 Maury Sec. There are 500 cases of this blend of equal parts Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. I had it in a blind tasting with other Roussillon, Southern Rhone and Catalan wines selling for as much as ten times the price of this wine. This Maury Sec, which came in third out of eleven of these highly rated wines, blew me away. An opaque ruby/purple color is followed by a stunning nose of camphor, acacia flowers, blueberries and blackberries, full-bodied richness, stunning purity, and a long, heady finish. This great value is capable of lasting for another 5-10 years, possibly longer. I have no experience with this estate’s potential longevity, but this is a big time winner."
Rated 95/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
